Of this loser. Norv Turner. Game after game, year after year. 1/2 yard to go and this losers team can't even score a point or 6. I hate these asshole biased announcers also. Anyone wonder why people hate Tom Brady? No humbleness whatsoever. Norv Turner needs to be fired. Frickin loser. Same thing every year and they bring him back.

What's to hate about Tom Brady? He's got his looks, cayshe, trophy wife, and one of the best QB's around. I can imagine him not looking at fat, drunken chicks that wish they had a shot to be with him... and that they stand no chance and all. But hey, good for that dude for what he has...

The fact that he two sons the same age and one he doesn't acknowledge for starters. And how about that little cheating scandle awhile back? Oh, and the smug attitude needs to go... He would not get a second look from most chicks, if not for the QB fame.

But hey, he can sleep at night.

The only reason Norv is still around is because the Chargers owners, the Spanos, are perfectly happy if the team finishes 8-8 or better. So for them, last seasons 9-7 record was success. Even though they didn't make the playoffs........

Norv sucks, Marty sucked, but compared to who else they've had for HC (minus Bobby Ross), these guys are great.

Good looking people, (men & women both) can be pushing baskets in a grocery store parking lot for a living, will get 2nd looks. You've been a "shut-in" for too long.

So you think Tom Brady is a good looking guy? He doesn't do a thing for me. What kind of underwear do you think he prefers? Do you think he's ever tried on Giselles panties?

trev, you're lying and denying. I'll bet he's wearing Giselle's panties while currently on the field beating the Chargers because she made him do it. He prolly has pics of himself taken by a professional photographer wearing them instead of a shot in a mirror... not that I would know anything about what a hot chick demands.

Which team seemed more prepared today? Which team executed?

The Chargers have been a cluster fuck at the start of every season Norv has been HC, and nothing has changed, except a terrible Viking team stumbled into San Diego last week.

Norv sucks ass.

Last Charger game I bothered to attend was when they played at home against San Fran in a pre-season game. Those two teams ended up playing in the Super Bowl that year. After that, fuck paying to see them live.

The Bolts were prepared, they just didn't execute. They certainly had their opportunties in easy scoring position and then they made some dumb plays. That's not on the coach. Norv set them up but the players have to make the plays.

And the Hoody did what he does best and that is pick a player and take him completely out the game. Gates was MIA. It's not exactly a disaster to lose a road game at New England. Sure, it would have been nice but, this one was penciled in as an 'L' when the schedule came out.

Some might conclude the Bolts didn't execute because they played like they practice.

That wouldn't have happened before all the foot injuries, when he routinely beat double teams. Gates definitely has lost a step or two.

And how is that? Do they practice Tolbert not running into the assigned hole then attempting to bounce it outside like he was Barry fucking Sanders or something? Is that how you think Norv drew that one up? Is that what it looked like to you?

Granted you don't expect Vince Wilfork to be dropping into coverage in a zone dog, but he is very large and you have to able to see him out there. I mean seriously...getting picked by Vince the Hutt? C'mon, Philip. WTF?

Credit due, it was a fantastic play by a very athletic fat man.
Gates definitely has lost a step or two.
Why didn't you say that last week when he had 8 catches for 70+ yards? The Gaytriots sold out to stop Gates and dared Vince Jackson to beat them. It worked in the end, but I think there might have been more than a few moments of private doubt while VJ was rampaging through their secondary.

Yeah that would have made sense. 3 or 4 years ago I noticed LT lost a bit of his burst after his TD record setting season, this is no different. Gates used to routinely beat double teams, that's simply not the case anymore. He'll still produce, much like the Colt WRs with Manning behind the helm, but he's definitely on the wrong side of peak performance.

I would think an aspiring play-by-play announcer would realize that as of the 2011-2012 season, any and all even slightly questionable plays are automatically reviewed.

Regardless, I didn't realize that a replay challenge was "cheating."

a.) the replay did NOT come from the booth.
b.) that the replay was for the XP  and not the TD.

I enjoy a drunken hausfrau pile-on as much as the next guy, and I wasn't watching the game at that point, but according to the play-by-play summary, the replay official challenged and reviewed the extra point.

..like the 3 man rush against the games finest surgeon. I could find an open receiver with all the time Brady had yesterday. You would think after he carved them up in the first half that Norv would make an adjustment....wrong, the front 3 were gassed by half time, yet the second half was a mirror of the first. Brady sitting in a rocking chair trying to figure out which of the 4 receivers would break open first. Unfriggin exceptable! The only way to beat Brady is pressure as it is with most elite QB's. We'll be 4-1 going into our bye week and it won't mean a friggin thing cause' Norv doesn't know how to plan for an opponent, he just does the same thing every week...blow him out before it's too late. Joe and I remember the days of Bobby Ross, now there was a coach! oh, but management couldn't pull his strings so they railroaded him out pn the midnight special.

Excellent take. Detroit actually blue printed how to pressure Brady in the pre-season, right up the middle. Of course the Lions have Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley, two of the reasons why I see much improvement on their team. The Chargers should have dialed up some exotic blitz packages going between the tackles (the main strength of the 34 D vs the pass) to mix things up a bit, as opposed to letting Brady choose which ever open receiver was deeper down field.

The Chargers got whipped from coaching, to player execution, NE was the better team.

I was at the game. I am fairly certain the review was for the TD here:

He caught in with one hand and there was definitely a question as to whether or not the ball hit the ground. There is NO way they reviewed the XP and not the TD play. Was the review after the XP? Sure...

You were at the game. You were probably drunk. I'm just going by the play-by-play at espn.com. They indicate the challenge on the line with the XP. If the challenge is for the TD, they list it on that line. Or it could be that the intern at ESPN who formatted the play-by-play was every bit as drunk as you and Trev.

Now you are projecting. I didn't drink alcohol yesterday.

Maybe the replay dude was taking a shit or got distracted. The replay was for the touchdown. That play was in question. The extra point was not.

As I said already said, the replay was definitely after the XP. ESPN's "play by play" doesn't help your take. That just lists shit in order it happened. No one is debating that. However, I am telling you the replay was delayed, temporarily forgotten about, or whatever... but it was for the TD.

No, it wasn't. They reviewed the XP because they thought the Chargers might have had 12 men on the field.
