If they would have ruled it a catch instead of incomplete, does the personal foul cause a dead ball and negate the fumble or does OU get the ball and the personal foul spots it at the 10?
Ps. I am not saying this determined the game. OU deserved that game.

Had they ruled this a catch then it might very well have been a TD as you only need to break the plane of the goal line with possession of the ball. However to answer your question it would have been FSU ball either 15 yards from the previous spot or half the distance to the goal 1st and 10.

will sound homerish, but no way that's a TD. if it's a catch, it's a fumble. ball is out before Shaw crosses the plane.

You could be correct. My issue is Wort knocks a guy out of the game on an illegal hit. Not only does it cost the opponent a TD the offender gets to keep playing a makes a pick on the second play post hit.
Not sure how you penalize that, but they way that one went really sucks.

maybe it's a dirty hit and yes, i agree, but that's not your issue in this thread. is it? that's an opinion you are adding on top. to me, looks like Wort and Harris lower their helmet but hit with the shoulder pad. i know it's sounds homerish for me to say it....but not sure there's 100% you can say Wort makes an illegal hit. could be, but i think most of the contact is shoulder pad and combo hit, not Wort going dirty.

There is no way Shaw got across the goal line and that was a illegal hit by both players.
Illegal hit is defined by using the helmet or shoulder for a hit on the opponents helmet.
My question was that it shouldve been 1st and 10 FSU at the goal line or 1st and 10 OU at the 10 after half the distance penalty from the 20.

The foul is a live ball foul so there was no way OU would end up with the ball. Since it was a live ball foul you go half the distance from the previous spot, 24, 1st and 10.
KC what I think you and many other fans and commentators are missing is that the defender can't hit with the shoulder or the helmet above the shoulders of the defenseless player. So even if Wort hit him with his shoulder it is still a foul. And yes I am adding my opinion just as I did during the game, I don't think Wort is dirty or did it on purpose but rathe it is just an example most here prolly saw. Guy makes an illegal hit that takes away a TD and puts the other player out for the game while he continues and makes an int 2 plays later.
