I’m looking forward to your visit to Madtown this weekend. Hopefully the Badger fans treat you well, we know how you guys travel. Lots of Badger fans financing next year's season tickets with sale of this game's tickets, mostly to Nebraska fan. :brad:

The league didn’t do you any favors with your first conference schedule, aside from giving you your toughest opponent first. Win this one and you can run the table.

Badgers have had two problems this year. Slow starts and inconsistent tackling. Hopefully they clean up both this weekend. Wisky’s cupcake OOC schedules have the potential to do more harm than good as they have not faced a team anywhere near as strong as Nebraska. Won’t surprise me at all to see the Corn jump out in front early.

But this Badger team is unlike any I’ve seen in the past 40 years. Still waiting for Russell Wilson to hiccup.

Yes, but they’ve typically had at least one close game OOC each year.

etc.

This year even when they’ve started slowly, they’ve revved it up by the second quarter. No one’s been close. The defense is decent, the offense is awesome. It will be interesting to see what they do against a top 10 team.

nebraska's a top ten team? shit, just realized i haven't looked at the rankings even once this year.

think i saw wisco was like a 10 point favorite. i'd bet fake money on that but the whole "haven't played a real team yet" thing makes them too unpredictable for actual money.

Local radio dudes did an on going survey on how NU fan perceives the outcome..90% DO NOT expect their beloved Corn to win. Hard to believe from a fan base that wears blinders like no other.

Wiskey has blown out teams as they should have and NU hasn't dealt the death blow when presented to them. Wiskey protects the ball, 1 T.O. to date I believe. Our QB is a turnover waiting to happen with each snap and your defense will load up 8 guys at the line and ask him to hit anyone in stride to beat them..He can't..he sucks throwing the ball, dude can run, but outside Okie St. last year his passing is not anywhere near FBS level, or D1 for that matter.

The big question is can NU run on your defense to the boundaries especially, and can Martinez hit a slant?..(Not so far this year) We have been a very good road team under Pelini, we'll see if they can overcome an extremely hostile atmosphere. The other matter is will NU be able to man up phyically against your run game, probably not...we're undersized and under talented at backer..(2 spots)..and really don't have good run stoppers at tackle,.. they were built for the Big 12 spread offenses. Also a very young defensive secondary will struggle with Wilson.

Bottom line NU is a very young team both sides of the ball and I don't see them stepping into this venue against a muscle team that is disciplined and win.

This isn't a good mix for NU and I expect Wisconsin to win by at least 2 scores....this time around anyway..

BTW, the A.D. has asked everyone traveling to Madison to wear black so the can be distinguished from the rodent fans.. "Pack Your Black" is the mantra. 20K hoping to get in...

Not necessarily, but I think Bielema coaches tight in "big" games anywhere. I think this team relaxes better than the coaches do.

On paper, this should be an easy game to pick. I would pick Wisconsin and run with the points. As discussed above, NU is young on both sides of the ball. The offense has picked it up over last year and scored 3 straight times over 40 points, which hasn't been done since 1995. That said, in these first 4 games, Pelini's habit of treating them like pre-season games in the NFL is baffling to say the least. He was even quoted as saying, "Now that the pre-season is over..." They had stretches in the first half against Wyoming where they had Taylor throw 3 straight times for 3 incomplete sideline passes. It's like they are just trying stuff out sometimes. Then, they finally kick it into gear in the second half. They beat Wyoming by 24 points and should have beat them by twice that.

On the defensive side of the ball, we have players that shouldn't be playing, but are playing. Lavonte David leads the Big 10 in tackles, but I'd be willing to bet he leads in QB misses, too. He's flown past the QB to miss a sack several times this year. They started a guy (Cooper #8) at corner when he's only played FS, so he got burned several times against Wyoming. If you guys don't target him, I'll be very surprised.

There is a weird sort of unearned arrogance from the coaching staff this year. They haven't played any complete game yet as they only seem to turn it on in the second half offensively and on the defensive side, they often let in late touchdowns after the game is decided.

Carl Pelini asked of Wisconsin after the Wyoming game, "Are they ready for us?"

I'm not sure why there is that arrogance, but if NU suddenly turns it on after four games, then it'll be the epic Jedi mind fucks of all mind fucks.

As for hostile environments, NU has had their fair share of them. I heard the Washington game last year was insanely loud. A&M was no picnic, either. Speaking of drunk assholes, we've had to play CU every other year there, so we have experience with drunk assholes, too. Sounds like Wisconsin is a combination of loud and obnoxious, so we'll see if it rattles them.

As for offense, the team is definitely turning up the production this year over the past few years. It's not perfect at all and it looks sloppy sometimes, but they're moving the ball at least. Big concern is fumbles. They've fumbled it 13 times and lost 4 in four games. Taylor is trying to hold onto the ball, but he has lapses and it's out again.

The key to NU having any chance winning this game is special teams. NU has a few burners on special teams who have broken some long runs. They'll need to give NU short fields all night. Our punter has been hitting some booming punts lately. If NU gives Wisconsin short fields, it's over early.

Should be an interesting game, likely high-scoring. Wiscy hasn't been scored on much but their competition has sucked. I think they'll struggle with our explosiveness and I'm sure we've been saving a fair amount for this game. Question is whether we can get our D together. We've been vulnerable as hell up to this point. We'll have Crick back this week and Dennard should be a hair closer to his old self. That should help. But I fear Wiscy's physical attack wearing-us down and them burning us with play-action. Don't think we win but we should keep it competitive, if we can get a cheap td off turnover or ST's maybe we pull it out.
