Hey, I was in favor of keeping the Expos in Canada. I knew the Nats would be an abortion. The only reason that POS franchise is alive today is because lobbyists and tourists still buy tickets.

If the Cards had the kind of management the Expos had, Busch Stadium would ring with the sound of crickets. Montreal lost its team because the provincial government and the city of Montreal actually expected the Expos to pay for their own new field. Low attendance was a pretext to justify gutting and selling the team, not the actual reason to leave. And don't bother citing numbers. I was at some of those games. The Expos had a passionate core fan base of 15k or so that with competent ownership would have served as a base to generate crowds like the team saw in 94 before baseball imploded and canceled the World Series.
