After almost 40 years I finally get to see this music in person, on Friday (prolly without Michael McDonald). I wouldn't mind if Larry Carlton showed up, though.
Should be memorable either way.

Best way to improve any show, be it rock, country, jazz, opera...

leave Michael McDonald out of it.

No Michael McDonald and no Larry Carlton, but the band fukkin rocked. Four horns (bari and alto sax, trombone, trumpet), two guitars (Herington and Walter Becker), two keyboards (including Donald Fagen), bass, drums and three backup singers. All of them awesome musicians playing some pretty complicated stuff without a flaw. The new arrangements of all the old stuff sounded amazingly fresh. And Keith Carlock is my new favorite drummer.
