Midseason Power Rankings

now that every team has played 8 games, it's time to look at who is the cream of the crop, who are the pretenders, and who is out of the playoff race.

AFC:

1. Steelers- I think that despite the loss Sunday, they are still more built to kick ass in the postseason than any team in the NFL. It seems inevitable that they will meat Baltimore AGAIN, and I think even if it's at the Ravens' stadium, these bastards are going to do them in.

2. Texans- I put them here because Andre is coming back soon, their running game has been consistant, and Wade has made the defense fearsome this year.

3. Ravens- They have more playoff experience than Houston obviously, but I just think that these assclowns have something to prove based on some questionable losses this year. When all is said and done they could be the #1 seed in the AFC but until then, stop losing to the Titans and Chiefs, pussies.

4. Jets- Making their run now and once December rolls around they should be wrapping up the East. A dangerous team to play in the postseason with plenty of bravado.

in contention:

-Cincinnati: No way in hell they win the North. I will promise that right now. They are going to lost their next two, and will be just like the Bills (see below). The Titans are the only .500 team they've beaten so far.
- Buffalo: should be looking for a wild card spot by the end of the year. They are a nice upstart and a good story
-San Diego: can probably pull a division crown off by going 8-8 like the underachieving pussies they are.
- New England: a team of complete pussies. Jet will fuck them in the mouth Sunday but after that, their schedule looks easy as hell so I expect about an 11-5 finish (they'll lose to the Eagles too). They will be one wild card.
-Oakland: In contention at the moment, but they have some ass-eater games in the second half. I guarantee that they will not make the playoffs. 7-9 looks about right.
-Kansas City: should be the biggest thorn in the balls of the Chargers (besides the Chargers themselves...they do a good job kicking their own ass). Like the Raiders, though, they have some difficult games coming up but they have proven they can hang with good teams.
-Tennessee: they have enough steam to run down a team like Buffalo or Cincinnati if both choke down the stretch. But I'm being nice by including them hee.

also-rans:
-Denver: still has a shot, but they suck too much to honestly win the West.
-Jackoffville: they're done.
-Cleveland: another last place finish.
-Dolphins: they should get a couple more victories this year.
-Colts: what a joke they are.

NFC-

1. Green Bay: People are still going to look at that defense and question it but they have the talent on that side of the ball to make adjustments in the second half of the season.

2. Giants: sure, they lost to the Seahawks but I'll take them over the upstart 9ers anyday. They may be lucky as shit, but they find ways to win big games. NOW....will they melt down like they have the last couple seasons in the second half? I predict that they will. Look at the schedule...it's set up for them to fuck it up again.

3. San Francisco: good defense, but Gore wll probably get hurt. I see them running into a stretch where they lose like 3 or 4 and it could cause some unravelling.

4. New Orleans: A team that SHOULD win the South and will probably lose in the first round. Pussy defense.

in contention:

-Dallas: Right now they are .500, but the schedule is loaded with creampuffs coming up, and they will win the East. I said that earlier and I still say it. Ryan has upgraded the D, and Murray is beasting on teams. They'll kick the shit out of Buffalo this week.
-Detroit: frauds. Probably will be a wild card though.
-Atlanta: frauds. will contend for the division though.
-Tampa Bay: will be on the outside looking in come January
- Bears: up and down. See Tampa Bay
-Eagles: better talent than the Lions or Falcons and should compete for a wild card

also-rans:

Rams: Spagnuolo sucks.
Vikings: Damn.....Frazier sucks worse than Childress.
Redskins: The NFC East doormat is getting pounded every week.
Seahawks: This team blows.
Cardinals: going nowhere fast. Back to being the Cardinals for life.
Panthers: another last place finish.

1. Green Bay Packers - Rodgers is a machine, perhaps the best QB I've ever seen or heard of since Unitas.

2. everybody else.

Of course he is. Rodgers is a Cal alum, you know. Unitas? He was a Louisville alum. Surely you jest.

Link?

They got utterly curb-stomped by Detroit and Buffalo, and yes, they got over on Oakland the week after their QB went down, they had injuries out the ass, were in disarray, and had to go with Kyle Boller at QB.

KC licks dick.

I'm very much looking forward to the December 24th Raider game in KC.

After today's thrashing of the Bucs in their house, I'm beginning to believe Houston's defense is good. It's been a wait and see for me up to this point, but now I'm convinced this defense may be top five. When Dre comes back, the offense could be top five as well. We'll see.

You've got a dece D there Coogs. The Bucs aren't the opponent you believe them to be though, this team is a mess on many levels starting at the top. That said, it was a road thrashing and Houston did exactly what they needed to do...I hope this is part of the whole that gets TB a real head coach.

The Bucs are not all that, but Houston is legit, imo.

They have the kind defense and strong running game that makes them built to WIN in the playoffs.

Definite AFC contender.

Yep. We already knew they had a great offense but right now they have a 66.9 defensive passer rating. That's a superbowl winning defense. Of course, not getting tormented by Peyton Manning twice a year helps that figure.

Schaub could be out for the year. Leinert starting next week. Stick a fork in the Texans.

Might want to give him a chance first. His problem in Arizona was a lack of dedication more than a lack of talent. If he has gotten his shit together, he could be a pretty decent QB. We will see if he is content to be a journeyman backup for the rest of his career or if he has higher ambitions.
