A 21-year-old man described as having a hatred for Washington and President Obama was arrested Wednesday in connection with rifle shots fired near the White House last week as authorities sought to link the gunfire to bullet damage discovered at the executive mansion, officials said.
um, said elected official was in Australia at the time.R-Jack wrote:Shots fired at an elected official...

800 plus yards with a 5.56 is quite a stretch...dude needs to rethink his strategy.R-Jack wrote:Shots fired at an elected official
Where is all that diversity and tolerance you liberals whine about, bitch ?Goober McTuber wrote:Whitey, you keep seeming to suggest how smart the right wingers are, but when we consider the right wingers that post here, we’re confronted with Derron, suckaholic, the Seer, Sirfuckafist, Kaley, etc. Not exactly a collection of the best and the brightest.
You’re about as diverse as it gets, Dorron, but we still all tolerate you.Derron wrote:Where is all that diversity and tolerance you liberals whine about, bitch ?Goober McTuber wrote:Whitey, you keep seeming to suggest how smart the right wingers are, but when we consider the right wingers that post here, we’re confronted with Derron, suckaholic, the Seer, Sirfuckafist, Kaley, etc. Not exactly a collection of the best and the brightest.

Assuming the anonymous official knows an AK-47 from an AK-74, it would be a 7.62 round. Of course with an AK it was a minor miracle he even hit building at all at that range. An official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing said Ortega used a knockoff of an AK-47.
He appears to be rooting for team batshit crazy.R-Jack wrote:Shots fired at an elected official and once again the most important thing to you tards is knowing which political team he roots for.
Pathetic.
He's 21 so that's right in the wheelhouse for the onset of schizophrenia. In recent months, though, Ortega began making statements that were out of character, said Kimberly Allen, who lives in Shelley, Idaho.
She said Ortega told family he believed he was Jesus Christ and that the world was going to end.

300 winchester mag or 338 lapua, but anything over 400-500 yards is just being ostentatious.....50 cal Barrett, but those fuckers are pretty expensive and the guy doesn't look like he could have raised that kind of cash....obviously, he just grabbed something off the shelfDerron wrote: 800 plus yards with a 5.56 is quite a stretch...dude needs to rethink his strategy.

All better choices than the 5.56. Although at 800 yards, the Barrett would be the weapon of choice. The Savage .308 can reach out there as well, my son has one and was making 700 yard shots with it this summer. The Barrett runs about $ 5,000 basic so not something everyone is going to have.Dinsdale wrote:Felix wrote:300 winchester mag or 338 lapua, but anything over 400-500 yards is just being ostentatious.....50 cal Barrett, but those fuckers are pretty expensive and the guy doesn't look like he could have raised that kind of cash....obviously, he just grabbed something off the shelfDerron wrote: 800 plus yards with a 5.56 is quite a stretch...dude needs to rethink his strategy.
338/378 Weatherby would be a fine choice... which bring us right back to your point -- a ox of ammo costs as much as the AK (I'm thinking an AK74 would leave a rather nasty bruise at 800 yards... probably not so much at Australia range).

Very nice weapon.KC Scott wrote:I bought the Sig 556 last year
Friend of my sons has one. He has brought it out to my range a few times. Excellent weapon. There are a ton of optics that are really affordable right now. One of my boys bought a nice red dot with windage markers and all for his .223 Bushmaster at the gun show last week. $ 79.00. There is no excuse for not having the best you can afford right now. Everyone around here knows somebody who works at Leupold, hence it tends to be the most popular optic in the U & L.KC Scott wrote:I bought the Sig 556 last year been really happy with it. Got the 522 this spring for my boys to learn on.
