So on a beautiful fall Texas afternoon with temps in the low 60's and only a few clouds in the blue sky the wife and I loaded up the girls (dogs) and headed out for a little hiking. We went to Enchanted Rock, granite outcropping in the Texas Hill Country.

Approaching the park

Our Dalmation wondering if she should smell the cactus any closer

View looking West to another "Rock"

View heading into the small canyon between the two "rocks"

Fracturing of the granite this is how it errods, has something to do with the freeze thaw cycle

I guess I could add some photos of us watching football, but you prolly saw/see enough of that around your house as it is.

Anyway Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours today.

No doubt she rules. I way out kicked the coverage, plus she loves football.

Both girls were rescued from breed rescue groups. Great way to have pure bred dogs without buying them. Never have and never will buy a dog when so many need homes.

big racks to you bud.....

a friend of mine collared me (get it) into doing some volunteer work with a dog rescue group here and have never been so sad, while having so much fun in my life....the people that choose adopt rescue dogs are heroes in my book....

Props to Lefty, Felix, 88 and anyone else who who adopts a pet as opposed to buying one. Even if you buy from a reputable breeder who treats the animals well, there are still way too many homeless dogs and cats to justify it.

Had about an inch of rain within the last week so that is what is left of it.

Plenty of pure bred pups need adoption also, FYI.

Those hills are slightly higher than the hills here in the city.

But I always dig PETs, and people who have compassion for animals.

We recognize that they are hills and call them as such. It prolly confuses east coasters who call things of the same height mountains.

Now out in west Texas there are 8000 plus foot peeks.
