The most boring Civil War Week I can ever remember. It's like war was declared, and the Evil Orange People didn't show up.
Like most of the big rivalries (argue about which one is "the biggest" all you like, but there's fuckers beating each other up over 1AA games -- they're all big), people get pretty nasty about it.
This week?
Not so much. Idon't know if I've seen anyone decked out in Beavs gear all week (Ducks gear is fashionable year-round, and it's pretty freaking prominent on Saturdays in autumn).
Maybe it's the disparity between the teams -- maybe the biggest mismatch in the 115 games of the series.
Maybe it's the letdown Ducks fans felt after the USC loss, and the MNC game going out the window.
BUT -- while OS is playing for pride and bragging rights, and they sure got a lift by blowing out UDub last week, they're a battered, broken down lot... Oregon needs this one for the PAC North "title," which leads to hosting the first PAC Championship (kinda gax), which leads to the Granddaddy.
In a season with the highest of all hopes that led to two monumental letdowns, a Rose Bowl ain't too shabby. Heck, usuallyone giant letdown in a season means you're done, so going BCSing after two... we'll take it...
But got 2 W's to get first.
