Re: Congrats Michigan
Yep, it was a very entertaining game and Brady Hoke is assured of not ever having to buy another beer in Ann Arbor.....at least until he loses to the Buckeyes.

ohio state hasn't beaten michigan in 364 days!
Re: Congrats Michigan
Well, since they lost...how quickly are they going to "shock the world" and announce that Meyer is their coach?
With the way the Michigan defense had played the last two weeks, I thought once it got to 16-6, Michigan was going to pull away. Miller impressed me...he's going to be a handful next year when Urban gets his hands on him. Shoelace and Touissant were stars again...Robinson with back-to-back superstar efforts.
The bowl game is a bonus at this point. They surpassed my expectations and the streak is over so BCS or whatever...it's been an encouraging season. They lose a lot of seniors and with next year's schedule, I can see them slipping back to 7 or 8 wins. Hoke will impress me if he can win 9 or 10 again with a fairly young team and a lot of tough games away from the Big House. Maybe next year that streak with Sparty can bite the dust...

Why do I get the feeling you've been waiting about 3 or 4 years to break that one out?M Club wrote:ohio state hasn't beaten michigan in 364 days!

Re: Congrats Michigan
It was a great day and wonderful atmosphere. I had almost forgotten how special cfb could be. It's nice to have a competent defense and a running game that features running backs and not just Denard running wild.
There were some solid Buckeye fans in my section, props to them.
I feel bad for Luke Fickell. He's getting fucked. He stepped up and took a job in the midst of a crisis and for that, will be unemployed by mid week.
Also, it has to chap Sparty's ass that if they don't beat Whisky again, Michigan will likely get a bcd bid.
A solid year by any measure. A real good class coming next year. I'm pumped!

Re: Congrats Michigan
on a day we gave up 34 to a guy who can't throw. if he could...wow, open receivers.WolverineSteve wrote:It's nice to have a competent defense...
but otherwise, yeah, 34 points, but a far cry from last year when you KNEW they'd give up the easy six. that goal line stand after this...

...would have never have happened were gerg still around.
i don't know many buckeye fans other than the guy i took money off of (straight up? okay!) so haven't to deal with the "yeah, but our worst team ever" angle they've probably deployed, but i feel good about dropping 40 on pretty much the same defense we would have seen scandal or no scandal.

I was speaking of the whole season as far as the defense. A 51 pt improvement vs. Illinois alone.

Re: Congrats Michigan
i saw some stat where michigan had to give up something like 110 points in the last two games to equal last year's porous defense...each game! kind of worried about the d next year but it's college, so someone on the line will develop. a couple experienced linebackers will probably account for the drop off there anyhow, not to mention the secondary is going to be <gasp> above average. only real problem i have right now is not knowing how to handle the optimism.
