A friend of mine is on his second deployment with the Marines in Afghanistan. His 1st one 2 years ago was a complete clusterfuck. Here's his report on this most recent deployment.

Looking like a skate ass deployment. Afghans pulled their heads out of their asses and are taking care of their own shit. About fucking time!!!

I'm not going to make any sweeping generalizations about things. Just posting this because for the first time since Tora Bora, someone has reported something positive out of Afghanistan.

must be because we have a CiC that those savages respect.

or maybe it's because we've been there long enough and put in enough of an effort to show them we are serious. just like we did in iraq.....till recently, anyway.

i would like to think we can make a difference in that shithole, but, history says otherwise.

personally, i think we pulled up stakes in the wrong place. we've got little to gain an dplenty to lose in a landlocked mountainous shithole in the middle of asia

Since it takes many years to teach those illiterate goat fuckers something, some progress should be being made after all the time we have been there. There is a huge difference between Iraq and Afghanistan.

They live in mud huts in Afghanistan. Their economy is dope, encouraged by the US. The average life expectancy for a man is 43 years.

Any progress made is not Barry's doing, much as you Obama honks think so. Stay there long enough and educate the dumb bastards on how to defend themselves, and something is bound to change. Hardly worth it in my opinion.

That would be a lie right there. Lots of people have reported limited progress on a local scale. Progress which has yet to be sustained in any area.

What exactly are you trying to do if not make a sweeping generalization?
