And how come only LSU has an actual tiger? Auburn somehow confused a predatory chicken with a tiger, and I think Mizzou's version is a stuffed doll they bought at Walmart.

Truman, looks 10 times better than LSU and Auburns mascots.
No way MU gets a real Tiger, the J-school is putting out too many liberal pussies, they would be protesting and having candle light vigils for him, then one would jump in, get eaten, and School would be sued. What a nightmare.

Token liberal chiming in to mention how stupid it is to spend money incarcerating animals for sporting events.

Word. At least Uga looks like he's having a good time. Sedated cows and tigers caged up, lying on their asses...oh, the tradition and pageantry!

Well, LSU's Mike VI definitely has a fairly sweet gig as the LSU mascot. He came from an animal shelter in Indiana, so it's not as if he had it all that great before LSU took him on. Now he's kicking it in one of the most badass purpose-built tiger habitats in the world, and he's not made to 'perform' like some circus elephant. Also, while the lifespan for an average tiger in the wild is 8-10 years, LSU's mascots are living twenty years.

from wiki:
"The name comes from a band of armed guards called the Missouri Tigers who, in 1864, protected Columbia from Confederate guerrillas during the Civil War."

Yet their mascot is a tiger, not an armed guard.

Why are you addressing this post to Truman when it was Van you quoted? ... And that's just the beginning.
Where's the 'wrong place for a comma' troll when you need him?

Ken, "Truman" is the Mizzou mascot's nic. Missouri...Truman...I'm sure you get it. Adel wasn't addressing the poster Truman.

adel didn't major in journalism in his time at Mizzou.
Maybe animal husbandry with a minor in shooting craps.

So, he was addressing Truman the Tiger in his post. Either way, doesn't matter. Adel's posts always crack me up. He seemingly cranks out a post then sprinkles commas from a shaker onto it... fall where they may, then stay.
