Ray Lewis? Uh...he's missed half the season.
All the more reason why being named a pro-bowler is a joke. It's a popularity contest for one of the worst football games ever.

Yep. If I were mod of the NFL forum, I'd lock and shitcan this thread for that exact reason.

While the game itself is a joke, being recognized as one of the best at your position isn't.
Congrats to Brian Waters, once again a Pro-Bowler after being released by the Chiefs. I'll never get that move.

Props to JPP. Hopefully the first of many such selections.

Why were Dwight Freeney and Ray Lewis voted as starters?

I thought it was a mistake or a joke when I saw Rivers on the list. He is a great QB, but this year he struggled, except for a few games.

Eli's stats are impressive. His 4th quarter stats are even better.
Cruz got shafted.

I'm not going to get all that upset about Stafford not going to the Pro Bowl...it's not like we watch that game anyway.

If I was voting, I would vote Schaub in as AFC #3, even though he only played 10 games.
He was 7-3 as a starter and has a QB rating 10 pts higher than Rivers.
Rivers leads AFC QBs in turnovers and his team lost 6 straight games... in large part because he couldn't take care of the ball.
He's thrown for a lot of yds, but a chunk of that was 'garbage time' yardage.
Might even vote Hasselbeck in before Rivers.
No way Rivers should be rewarded with a pro-bowl appearance this year, imo.

I'll bet you $50 he'll be asked to play (after Brees and Rogers bow out)... whether or not he accepts is another story.

And to really make a mockery of this whole thing, go ahead and take a wild guess as to who was chosen to be the AFC's second alternate QB.

Joe Flacco has got to be furrowing his unibrow over this.

Romo kills those guys in QB Rating.
So much for doing it on sheer numbers.

I've watched 7 minutes of this abortion of a game and I'm turning it off post-haste.
Worst all-star game in the history of sports.
Ever.

I watched a little of the game early on. It looked like a pre-game walkthrough, guys moving a half-speed, linemen sidling up to each other for a slow dance. At one point, I thought there must have been a whistle I didn’t hear, because the players at the line of scrimmage just quit moving. Then Aaron Rodgers whistled a pass downfield. The crowd booed loudly, and I switched the channel.

That would be totally awesome. Cheating to try and win the Pro Bowl.
