Rose Bowl in game...

Like I said in the other thread, anyone up for Washington-Baylor, Part II?

7-7, and I don't think they've even gone to the first commercial break yet. This one is going to be fun.

Okay, and fine, I kinda like Oregon's chrome motorcycle helmets with the Honda wing.

First two observations...

-Looks like Wisky Fan is dominating the stadium. Whole lotta red mixed in with those yellow sections, while the red sections are solid red.

-Nowhere near enough shots so far of the Oregon cheerleaders. I appreciate ESPN wanting to give equal time to the Wisky sled-dogs-in-skirts, but...no. Just park those cameras on the Oregon side and leave them there.

First team to force a punt wins?

14-7, Wisky.

I think Wisconsin has the better QB which will be the difference in this one.

Well, Oregon blinked first. Funny that they're already in a must-stop situation.

That's just Goober sitting on that side of the stadium.

Mgo, sounds about right to me. It just seems like Oregon's offense plays more on a knife's edge, with no room for error. Wisky can comfortably pound the ball or throw it, and rely on either one equally. If Oregon is forced to throw, such as on third-and-long, they look very average. Their passing game seems entirely reliant on deception. Wisky's doesn't.

Still, it has to come down to defense, and will either team play any?

Yeah, before all is said and done, I'm really gonna regret seeing USC lose DAT to Oregon. That guy is just a blur.

14-14, end of the first quarter. Sounds about right, a 56-56 game.

Wisky's O vs Oregon's D = men against boys. I have a feeling that Oregon's offense is simply going to be be unable to keep up. They'll be the ones to turn it over or just plain misfire.

21-14, Wisky, whose offense isn't even breathing hard to score.

Doubt it. I also said neither defense will stop the other team. Can we just fast forward to the 4th quarter?

Then again, I blinked.

21-21. This is like a pinball game. Both these defenses are at a complete loss.

Tha fuck are Dins and Goobs, anyway? I know Dins would be saying right about now, "Yeah, sure, but Oregon is going to keep this pace up for SIXTY FUCKING MINUTES! They're used to playing at a track-meet tempo. Wisky WILL wear down in the second half."

To which Goobs would reply, "Faggy uniforms, Oregon."

I might agree with both of them.

Right on pace. 28-28 going into the half.

Maybe Dins will be right. Maybe Wisky won't be able to maintain this pace for sixty minutes. In any case, so far this game has been a blast.

Funniest moment of this Rose Bowl so far, and it's going to be tough to top...

...the Oregon marching band's rendition of Van Halen's "Panama."

Just in off the ski slopes. First shot I saw was of the Oregon band. Two thoughts on that, did they leave 75 percent of the members at home and those are the worst band unis I have ever seen. Rice has more MOB members than Oregon does in their band. Guess it makes sense for Oregon band to have horrible unis just like the rest of the school, why break with tradition?

B1G fan has no room to talk about Big 12 lack of defense. Most points ever in first half of Rose Bowl says what?

Okay, and there it is in a nutshell, the difference in coolness between the West Coast and the Midwest. While the Oregon band covers Van Halen, the Wisky band offers up...Frankie Valli's "Walk Like A Man"?! They even had the band singing the super gay falsetto parts.

Well, according to Big 12 fans, it's two great offenses.

They made a long trip to California and are just trying to fit in with the gay stuff.

I'm thinking there was a subtle message (I don't think the TV guys mentioned it) in the Wisky band coming to SoCal and playing a medly of songs by...The Four Seasons?

Playing a blue-hair song like that, I think it's more a case of them paying homage to Pasadena's famous little old lady.

DAT whooshes off to another long TD run. That drive took, what, four seconds?

35-28, Oregon.
