NOT!
"I'll say it straight out, even after the game our team felt it was the better team..."
"The better team doesn't always win..."
Nice job after you just got your ass kicked, sorry the better team did win today and it wasn't your squad. Boo fucking hoo, show some class and suck it up and say you got beat.

I watched very little of that game but, even if he's right, it's something you tell your players, not the media.

The only bad thing about Pelini losing is that Spurrier won. They're both class A douchebags.

T Martinez should've gone with his initial impulse to transfer to Tulsa or Akron. He ain't going NFL and he ain't gonna enjoy his time in Lincoln.
Good fans deserve better.

Spurrier has mellowed a little here in his later years. Oddly enough, my Doctor was good friends with him at UF, and said he's really a nice guy in RL. Also know a couple of guys who have played golf with him, and both said he's as nice a guy as you'd ever want to meet out of football. Kinda surprised me, too...
That surprises me too but I'd be even more surprised if anyone ever said that about Bo.

I'm a straight up Nebraska fan till they throw dirt in my face...I can't argue with one freekin' bit of this.
The guy is wearing thin here, asshole has been looking to get out of here for two years, he interviewed with PSU two weeks ago and then denied it. Miami last season.
Here's a clue Bo, nobody wants your sorry ass, and we're stuck with him till Osborne is painted into a corner by the boosters of substance.
He also plays it off as the players are at fault.. "they aren't doing what they've been taught" this has been quoted numerous times this season... Hey Bo, year 4 douche bag, who's fault is it?
For those who don't know, he's the laziest recruiting HC in the nation.
We're screwed.

My Zysdale Spurrier story . . .
A few years back, we went to Virginia Beach on vacation and got a whole bunch of cheap/free stuff for listening to one of those time share pitches (if you've never done that, it'll blow your mind, but that's another story altogether.) Anywho, our salesman was a guy named George (forgot his last name) who claimed to have played college football at Florida with Spurrier then claimed to have later played in the NFL with the Dolphins. He looked to be about Spurrier's age, but said he played OL, and although very tall, was considerably lighter than one would expect of an OL in the NFL, even factoring in the time he played (although he obviously could have lost weight after retiring). He obviously considered himself a friend of Spurrier's, and said Spurrier called him to tell him he was going to accept the Redskins job. He said he couldn't believe Spurrier was doing that.
He also said that Spurrier's last NFL hurrah as a player came when he signed with the Broncos as a free agent in '77. According to this guy, Spurrier outplayed Craig Morton in training camp, but the Broncos went with Morton and Spurrier retired. I don't remember it (I do remember Spurrier playing with the inaugural Tampa Bay team in '76), but I suppose it's possible that Spurrier was in the Broncos training camp in '77. I think the guy was probably looking at the rest through rose-colored glasses, though, in that the Broncos went to the Super Bowl that year under Morton, but had never been to the playoffs before that.

Pelini has no communication skills whatsoever. He should have said, "We had several opportunities to be successful, but just didn't execute and made way too many mistakes to beat a good team like South Carolina"
I think that's what he meant... but doesn't know how to express it properly. He might have went on to mention how he plans to do a better job of preparing his team in the future. If dude is looking to get out, it's not going to be to a better gig considering the way he operates on the sidelines and his lack of media skills.
I think he means well but just fucks it up too often. That said... Nebraska could have easily beat the Gamecocks had they excuted. They should have been up two scores at half which might have deflated SC and at least forced them out of their gameplan. These teams play 10 times and Nebraska wins 5 if not more. I'm not too sad about things. They beat themselves. Congrats to SC on their best year ever.

Down 38-10 at the half vs USC in the 2005 Orange Bowl, Bob Stoops refused to give the Trojans credit for anything, said that it was OU that was beating themselves.
OU may have played poorly but USC deserved a lot of credit there were a couple TD catches in that first half that were amazing, one by Byrd and one by Smith.
Maybe Pelini was channeling his inner Stoops..... or he just forgot that Nebraska is no longer in the big 12

i'm not very familiar with zysdale but doubt his stories could have been any more pointless than yours. you didn't even sell us on the free timeshare or whatever the fuck you were bragging about.

for the realz, i feel bad for you. at least if nebraska football were your wife you could punch some sense into her. i'm in a particular empathetic mood because i just read "three and out," which basically recaps how a bunch of douchebags sabotaged dickrod's program at umich because "we're power football!!!" as in: ja, asshole, thanks for the three years of misery plus however long hoke has to duct tape this thing together before he gets it going again. i'm pretty excited about 11-2 but can't shake the feeling it was smoke and mirrors.

Ive been a husker since the mid-seventies, I bleed husker red. For me, Dr Tom was a quiet man with class, who commanded respect from all who knew him. Osborne knew the game of football, inside and out, he was also able to "change", when "change" was sorely needed. For instance, in the 80's when the florida schools would beat nebraska every January, due to flat-out speed, what did Osborne do? He started recruiting flat-out speed, especially on defense.
Did it work? Was Osborne able to change with the times? FUCK YES!! The man came a field goal away from 3 perfect back to back to back titles against the florida trifecta of flat-out speed, fsu, miami, and florida.
Osborne had it all, Pellini?
From what I can tell so far? The man thinks he can play with the BIG DOGS with a white tailback?
Dont get me wrong, Nebraska is a quality program, BUT, if Pellini continues on the same path, we might as well hire back Frank Solich for pete's sakes!!
Big time college football is all about "gamebreakers", the teams who contend for national titles year after year, HAVE GAMEBREAKERS. Recruits who can break a game wide open on any given play.
What fuckin gamebreakers has Pellini recruited? Obviously, you must have stout offensive lines, and stout defensive lines, BUT, where are the gamebreakers that nebraska was famous for?
When watching the rose bowl the other night, I couldnt help but marvel at the gamebreaking speed of Oregon. As for big time tailbacks?
Monte Ball? Richardson? Why in fucks name arent these tailbacks going to Nebraska?
Doesnt Pellini realize that at nebraska we expect more? I honestly thought that when Osborne fired Callahan, and hired Pellini that it was perfectly clear what Nebraska football was all about. Nothing needed to be said, it should have been perfectly understood what Nebraska football was.
SO, what the fuck is the major malfunction here? In the mid nineties, teams hated to play us. WHY?
Because opposing players knew that after a nebraska football game, they'd be feeling it for two to three weeks after.
Thats the kind of program that Dr Tom put in place. Speed everywhere. And big time strength and power and size everywhere.
SO, my question is this, as a life-long nebraska fan, will I ever see the kind of program that Dr Tom ran? ever in this lifetime? Or is it just a pipe dream?
