A: Historically bad.
But apparently, not as bad as the defending Super Bowl champs. Nice job, Green Bay. Way to really suck ass.
Rk | Team | Pts/G |TotPts | Scrm Plys | Yds/G
1 Green Bay Packers 22.4 359 1,049 411.6
2 New England Patriots 21.4 342 1,064 411.1
3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30.9 494 1,002 394.4

Yes, we’re a full half a yard worse than NE. Which could be critical if we’re playing the Tennessee Titans.

I saw that, too. I hope they both get blown out in their first games.

But you won't. You probably won't even get to the Super Bowl.

I'm prettty sure that points count a lot more than yards.
I could be wrong though.

NE and GB both have better defenses than the Raiders.
NE is 3d in the league in turnover ratio.
GB is 2nd.
That doesn't suck much.
NE is 15th in pts allowed.
GB is 19th.
Both decent.
Stats are stats.
You know what both GB and NE are really good at?
Putting quick pts on the board and forcing the opposition to keep pace with that.
When the opposition tries to keep pace, they end up turning the ball over.

The Patriots offense last year was even more feared than it is this year. Yet the Jets came in and beat them in the divisional round without trying to play the whole "let's keep on pace!" thing....they were just more physical and beat the shit out of them. The Patriots couldn't "keep pace" with the Jets defense because they ha too many soft pussies. Same thing this year. Steelers will come into Foxboro and rip the Patriots a new asshole.

YOUR
Goddammit, now you're using 'you're' where 'your' belongs? What?! NO ONE does that! That's...like...impossible, and stuff.
GAH!
Look...
your: the possessive. Your box of chocolates. Your colostomy bag. Your age/sex/location. Your inability to understand the difference between 'your/you're' is simply baffling.
you're: a contraction of 'you are.' You're a fucking moron. You're a fine specimin of manhood, ucant. You're causing a tingling in my nether regions, you glorious Chowd. You're going to figure this 'your/you're' shit out if it's the last thing I do.

Or Baltimore. I have a feeling NE will be playing Cinci in the divisional round.

NE's defense has failed my "eyeball test" all year long. This is the worst defense I have seen in my life and it's not even close. So opposing teams turned the ball over. A lot. Big deal. As you said, that is more of a testament of the other team playing from behind. Passes landed in their hands more often than not. There are no playmakers on defense. Just a bunch of dudes who can't cover and can't tackle. Thankfully, the other "great" teams in the league are just as flawed as they are.

They're popping champagne in Denver already.

I think all that really matters is that they're 15-1, With a bye and home field throughout... They allowed 359 points this season, but scored 560...

My take:
Tebow will turn water into points, and toss loaves and fishes all over the yard in a Denver victory.
This isn't based on any statistical, or even rational analysis -- it would just piss me off so badly, that it's inevitable.

Pats defense = Vince Wilfork and Patrick Chung and... nobody.

Pats defense = Tom Bieber putting 38 pts on the scoreboard.

should concern you...

15-1 means they have homefield thruout, a pretty sweet advantage for the most part.
you seem to be the one concerned with defense, you started the thread lamenting a lack thereof.

You might want stay focused. Football Jesus is coming to town next week fresh from cornholing the #1 defense in the league.

Right on mvscal!
John Fox and John Elway could also get a little credit here. But to be safe "Football Jesus" works for me

I'm not sure what credit you would give to Elway but, if John Fox isn't coach of the year, they might as well stop issuing the award. Certainly nobody on this board picked Denver to finish better than a distant third place in a bad division.

I give a little credit to Elway for lighting a fire under Tebow's ass. John Fox deserves major props for what he's doing

The last 6 years have meant dick in that regard. 4 out of the last 6 Super Bowl winners have played during the first week of the playoffs. Two 6 seeds and a 5 seed have won the Super Bowl during that span. The last time I checked, that usually translates to a lot of fucking "road" wins.
Any other dumb-assed takes you want to share?

Focused on what, exactly? I've already comes to terms with NE trotting out the worst defense I've ever seen in my life this year. This is not a Super Bowl year for us, unless Brady and Co are able to average 40+ pts/game in the playoffs.
And I don't like the Packers chances either.

I like Peter King's pick. New Orleans over New England in the Super Bowl.

Yes overall the Packers Defense statistically is weak, BUT they are 2nd in the league in takeaways giving Mr Rodgers and company opportunities to score more points. I know that some of your Tards didn't get past the 3rd grade or don't understand rithmetic real well so I'll explain it to you....WHOEVER HAS THE MOST POINTS AT THE END OF THE GAME WINS The Steelers statistically had the # 1 ranked Defense and how'd that work out?

Yes, it does. They’ve squeaked by all year by winning the turnover battle and scoring a ton of points. They lost the TO battle 4-0, the receivers dropped 8 or 10 passes, and the Hail Mary at the end of the first half was killer.
Looking forward to Harbaugh v Harbaugh in the Super Bowl.
