Sorry it'll be a brief one though. You never should have won the first meeting and you sure as hell aren't winning this one.

Texans over the Bengals is my least confident playoff prediction, and the fact YAFJ picked the Texans will have me sweating this one out...

I'm fairly confident Houston will win this game. Teams that back into the playoffs are usually one and done.

Houston might as well hire Jerry Sandusky as their towellboy.

Didn't they win their division straight up? What is the concrete definition of "backing into the playoffs" then? Whatever, it's a stupid fucking phrase. You're either a playoff team or you're not.

if you call clinching the division with 3 games left backing into the playoffs, you really don't have a clue of what the fuck you're talking about, you mouth breathing idiot.

When you clinch a playoff spot on the final week by having about 6 different scenarios go your way while also losing.

Oh, ok. Do you get extra special bonus points for being a "legitimate" playoff team? And is it better to back OUT of the playoffs?

They lost the last their three games ugly and were starting a third string rookie at QB. Typically, teams prefer to be playing their best football going into the playoffs. The Texans weren't. Teams that clinch early and take their foot off the gas usually suffer for it in the playoffs.
Yeah...they backed in.

They lost their last game to Tennesse because they went for two instead of tying the game and going to overtime.
That's not backing into the playoffs, that's not giving a fuck about a meaningless game and saving wear and tear on your players for a game that does mean something.
Obviously, that strategy worked.

They struggled to put away the Bengals just like they struggled through the last three weeks of the season and, by the way, nothing has "worked" in the postseason until you're the last team left.

They did?
What game did you watch?
I watched the one where they had 31-10 lead midway thru the 4th qtr and Foster was running roughshod over the Bengals.

I watched the one were the Texan defense made a great pick six and the Bengals didn't. That dropped interception was the decisive play of the game.

So, what you're saying is that Cincy was 5 plays away from winning the SB?
Nevermind they got shut the fuck out in the 2nd half, one missed INT decided a game they lost by 3 TD's.
Dude, the first rule of being in a hole (rest assured that you're in a hole here), is to quit digging.
But no, from stupid  pics to braindead tard accusations, you keep coming back for more in the grand Black Knight tradition.
To recap:
Cincy backed into the playoffs, Houston did not. Houston backed up their bonafides by bitchslapping an inferior team who was fortunate to have even made the playoffs.
That about sums it up, unless you'd like for me to continue making a fool of you.

Yes, that one play certainly changed the entire dynamic of the game. That's why the pressure in football is so high. The game frequently hinges upon a single play or series of downs.
To recap:
Cincy backed into the playoffs, Houston did not.
Actually they both backed in to the playoffs. Neither team was playing particularly well. Cincy shit the bed in the meat of their division schedule then slapped around a couple of bottomfeeders and Houston staggered to the finish line.
Somebody had to win.

Houston didn't back into the playoffs.
They clinched a spot weeks ago.
Cincy DID back in because they were in a position going into week 17 where if they won they made the playoffs.
Well, they lost... but stil made it in.
That's backing in.
It doesn't make them any less worthy as a playoff team than Houston, it's just a matter of understanding the term.
Wagon has the right handle on it.
As for this game, it was pretty competetive.
If you're going to win a road playoff game, you can't make the mistakes Cincy made - particularly the INT at the end of the 2nd qtr., and you need to MAKE a play when it's there for you - the missed INT.
The BenGALS failed to rise to the occassion ---> and Foster pounded them into the dirt in the 4th.
Houston was the better team.
The end.

No they didn't, you miserable twat. Cincy backed into the playoffs by virtue of the Jets and Raiders losing on the final week. A team playing their 2nd stringers for nearly three quarters in week 17 did not back into the playoffs. Week 17 meant nothing to the Texans. They were in well before hand like Poptart and Wags mentioned.
Crack open a dictionary, fuckface.

So the Texans "struggled" to put away the Bengals based on the fact they made a great play and Cincy didn't. I got it...I think.

Of course what I meant to say was that the Bengals had a very great season with so many young players in key roles, but Houston was going to win.
Props to the Texans.
That pick 6 before half was a killer. Start the second half in a tie game with the ball the mentality for the Bengals is vastly different. Give Houston tons of momentum, plus the lead, going into half was brutal.
For what I expected out of Cincy this year I'm still very pleased with the season. Even with a W yesterday it would have ended in NE next weekend anyway! For the first time in a long time (see: EVER) I feel confident about the future of the franchise. 1st year QB who looks very good, 1st year WR who is a stud, 2nd year TE who looks very good plus the extra 1st round pick coming up.
Good luck next week Texans, you're gonna need it!

Cincy was in control of that game for the most part leading up to the Watt interception. They had a great offensive game plan with Dalton doing a lot of 3-step drops with completions of 5-10 yards every time. They kept getting into very manageable third down conversion yardage. Nugent's 50 yard missed FG was also a bit of a blessing. If Dalton doesn't take that big sack on the play before, Cincy is up 13-10 leading up to that Watt int return for a TD. Maybe Lewis has Dalton sit on it with a lead. WHo knows.
As for the Watt int, that was just a ridiculous play. Not really Dalton's fault there. I believe after that freak play, Dalton wasn't the same calm, cool guy. He definitely played like a rookie in the second half of that ball game. Couple that with Crocker missing out on a possible pick 6, and this game probably comes down to the wire.
A lot of people are killing Crocker for not hauling that int in, but I looked at the replay quite a few times and it was a difficult catch to make and here is why. Most DBs, when they jump a route and are coming towards a ball, it is usually of the variety of a ball coming at an angle and not straight at them. Also, when DBs do jump routes like that, they really only take three, maybe four steps towards the throw and aren't even close to full speed when picking the pass. Crocker was coming from the deep safety position and was almost at full speed when he put his hands up to snag that ball. And like I said, he was running straight at the pass, which means the closing speed on the ball was a lot faster than a ball that is coming at a DB from an angle. That is an unusual catch to make, even it was Larry Fitzgerald having to make that catch. Receivers and DBs rarely make catches where they are running full speed towards a ball coming at them facemask high at a zero degree angle. It was still a stupid pass by Yates and had Crocker made the pick, it could've been a game changer.
Cincy has a bright future ahead of them. I think they'll be in the playoffs for many years to come.
Go Texans!

The Suxans are going to get fisted gently but firmly and with clinical efficiency next week. It will be over so fast you'll be left wondering how much you should tip the Ravens for the service before the shame sets in.
