Good guys were playin' catch-up. Damn Krauts began test flights in '39, and had an operational fighter (Me 262) in their inventory by mid-1944. Fortunately, we solved the nuclear puzzle before they did....

I don't think that term means what you think it means.

Otherwise, it wouldn't be called "Thanksgiving," it would be called "Passover."

Glad I could help.

Yes, we know how fascinated you SECers are with the concept of air travel.

Sorry, Van, but the Slow Kid here missed the sarcasm. I'm from the Ozarks, so please type slow so I can keep up.

Pretty sweet site, Goobs....

I'll let Dins handle it. With each swing-and-a-miss he creates a pleasant breeze.

I read it again, and still missed it.

Might not have been very good.

You're not suggesting that Oppenheimer was born in Germany are you, Van?

Cue facepalms...

That's kind of what I got out of the "sarcasm," but I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt before the :D'OHfacepalms: were offered.

Once saw a pic of a German Bomber-prototype designed for the blitz of New York City, but I'm pretty sure the Big Apple was solidly in American hands when Oppenheimer was born there in 1904, Van....

Got your Klink, Schulz, and Hogan pic handy, Dins?

Born in Germany? No. German surname? Ja.

Jeez, what a buncha literalist curmudgeons.

Didn't even need to look up that Oppenheimer was from NYC (didn't know the year, though).

Hope Van's head doesn't explode when he finds out Oppy was a Kal guy.

I guess that makes him German then.

Went and saw Red Tails yesterday afternoon. Good movie, some technical flaws as always, but great renderings of the B-17, P-40, P-51, and the ME 262.

And they even had the black officer fucking the Italian hottie until he augers in.

I have not been to a movie in years, so the ability to make these things is pretty cool.
