Quick Jane's Addiction Review

I saw Jane's Addiction a few days ago
High Points: Perry Ferrell still has a voice like an air raid siren, Dave Navarro is better than ever and apparently works out whenever he isn't feeling 100% awesome, a rhythm section that went in search of the brown note and almost found it and a light and stage show that included BDSM videos, two 20 foot tall naked chicks in the background, a mock hanging...
Well, you get the idea. It was FUCKING AWESOME.
Some idiot music critic here in Rochester wrote that the show started off slow. Only in the sense that it started great and just got better can you say that.
Most Pleasant Surprise: How seamlessly they were able to work their material off their new album "The Great Escape Artist" with their classic crowd favorites from 20+ years ago. At no point in this show did they ever have that "here's where we tire the audience with our new shit moment" that more than a few older bands are guilty of. The old material felt fresh and the new songs felt like classics.
Low Point: Some idiot decided to bury Perry Farrell's vocals in the mix way too often
Lower Point: The opening band, Black Box Revelation, was tiresome and apparently chosen only because their two person setup could be torn down quickly. They couldn't finish fast enough for me.
Lowest Point: Being nearly smothered by a 350 lb chick sitting next to me who couldn't fit in her own seat and decided to cascade her ASS into mine. Seriously, I felt like Ice T, that bitch tried to kill me. And she kinda looked like Rumplewife with shorter hair. I'm still scarred.

PS: And best of all, they did NOT play "Back In The High Life."
