i'm down. not much else to watch these days. i'm doing Spartacus, Justified, and East Bound and Down....and I still feel like i'm slumming bit. that's about it. not much going on.

i didn't read the books but season 1 was good enough.

I don't have HBO. We bought the first season from Amazon Instant Video and watched the whole thing in a couple of days. Prolly do the same with the second season.

Working my way through the first season of The Wire right now.

I wanted to like it, but it's written and directed like some cock-stuffed San Francisco faggot's idea of life in Kentucky.

A completely execrable piece of shit.

pretty cartoonish, sure. season one was OK. 2, a bit lacking. 3 is decent. i just accepted the cartoonish part.
i think that's part of the deal. old west myth reimagined. gunslinger in the modern era. it's no Wire or Deadwood....but passes the time sometimes.

californication seasons 1 and 2 had some solid writing....since then, and turning Charlie Runkle into a slapstick sex misadventure character....it's been pretty crappy.

Ebound and Down has moments, but it's running on thematic fumes as well. i did like KP's speech about crustacian warriors though.

Season 2 of The Borgias starts tonight on Showtime.

I don't know how accurate it is historically, but I enjoyed the heck out of season 1.
