This is much more of a story if they aren't battling for 14th place. Would she have done the same thing if she was going to medal? Would she have given up a medal to help?

She said that helping the other girl over the finish line was more satisfying than gaining the title she already won so yes. I think she would have. We can see the reaction from the crowd. When they went home that night I am sure the memory they will forever have of the event was Ms. Vogel helping the other competitor and not of any other single performance by any other athlete. It was a selfless act that trancends sports and that is why it is so great. These days people have become so coarse and selfish and look here for any example. Trying to identify the biggest idiot or loser instead of celebrating life and helping others in need. Meghan Vogel is my hero this week.

Meghan... how does a dad decide to give his daughter a name like that? Luckily, my progeny had a dad with more sense. Wifey wanted to name her Ashley, I shot that down pretty quick and we proudly call her Megan.
