It took me a bit to decide between 1 and 2. I'm going with 1, because of the absolute language (had no part) in 2; I think He very, very loosely guided the process.

I must admit that I'm stunned (not really) that option 1 makes more sense to you than 3.

3 is at least consistent. It espouses the traditional religious view that there is a g0d and he snapped his finger and everything was here. View number one is wishy washy. It recognizes that there is a gawd, btu, that he's a bit of a procrastinator and not really all that godlike.

My view is number 4 I haven't a fukking clue and since I have no hope of that changing, why worry about it.

if I have to go with one of the given options, I guess I'll go with 2.

and then all of a sudden, after watching human struggle for survival all of these millions of years, 2,000 or so years ago he decided it was time for an intervention and he sent himself down to sacrifice himself to himself in an effort to rid mankind of evil (sounds perfectly logical to me)....you'd think the creator could come up with something a little more creative than that
2) Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God had no part in this process.
yep
3) God created human beings pretty much n their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so.
if this god character created humans within the last 10,000 years, he's an even bigger asshole than I'd originally thought

and to save anyone the trouble....if when I die and I travel to some perfect place and met at the entrance by god and asked why didn't believe, my question would be "how did you expect me to believe when all my life you pretty much demonstrated that you were a giant fucking douchebag"

Gods are fairy stories meant for children. Real men answer #2.

Rack both Todd and pop!! Looks awful! Why would your God allow such things to happen to his "children?" Either he can help and chooses not to which makes him malevolent, or he isn't able to intervene, so why call him God?

You were born, not made--by a mother. The gods you speak of have been made by you to serve you--though as with a fancy car, a fixer-up mansion, or the fading beauty of a mistress, you often end up serving it. Reason, or rational thought, demands one thing only--and unequivocally--and that is our serving it.

The survey is obviously flawed by posing the question as though "God" is a given reality in the first place. If they were to ask properly, Do you believe that the tribal god of the ancient Hebrews is the center of all creation and life as we know it? Well, this might rouse more folks from their tedious slumbers.

Wake the fuck up!

God is a sick, demented fuck. If you were "God," would you be capable of casting those who do not worship you into an eternal pit of fire? Of course not.

FUCK that asshole.

I would reply, but my spidey sense tells me it might trigger a 47 page theology thread - and I think the forum has fatigue for that now.

Bring it to the Theology Forum if you're looking for a response from little ol' me.

All Darwin did was to suggest a sequence of events and forces that could lead to species change. He had no concept of genetics, let alone DNA. Gregor Mendel showed how inheritance works and worked out the math involved. Watson and Crick found the building blocks of life that carried the code for an organism's traits. If I was a creator, I'd get the ball rolling by creating the atoms that would lead to all of this and sit back and let it roll. The least everyone should do is be appreciative of the fact that the odds of your own existence is almost zero. Make something of yourself while you exist.

Funny. I missed Option 4.

What if you reject the premise of all three statements?
