On the other hand, he might have just stroked out after that guilty verdict kicked him in the beans. I wouldn't be surprised if he did poison himself, though, since he seemed have a seriously fucked up decision matrix.

I suppose walking away from the mortage and/or declaring bankruptcy weren't options?
