US government records $904.2B deficit through June
http://news.yahoo.com/us-government-rec ... nance.html
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. budget deficit grew by nearly $60 billion in June, remaining on track to exceed $1 trillion for the fourth straight year.
Through the first nine months of the budget year, the federal deficit totaled $904.2 billion, the Treasury Department reported Thursday.
President Barack Obama is almost certain to face re-election having run trillion-dollar-plus deficits in each his first four years in office. That would likely benefit his opponent, GOP presumptive nominee Mitt Romney.
But then so is this, huh?
Harry Reid: Romney ‘couldn’t be confirmed as a dog catcher’
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/harr ... 38762.html
On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid suggested Romney would never win Senate confirmation for a Cabinet position because "he won't show anybody his tax returns." But as Politico reports, Reid took that criticism a step further on Thursday, saying that Romney couldn't even win confirmation to be a "dog catcher."
Okay, so basically all we as a nation really have to offer are stores and stores of killer weapons, gorgeous cheerleaders, blues and jazz music, college football, and Smackie's radio show. Other than those things, we're a total fucking embarrassment and may as well move to Phibestucky.
Great.

Here's something else that's kinda bad.
(Darwin visits Nigeria?)
Nigeria Fuel Tanker Fire Leaves at Least 95 People Dead
By Tony Tamuno - Jul 12, 2012 At least 95 people died in Nigeria when a tanker carrying gasoline crashed and caught fire today at Okobie village in the southern Rivers state, a road safety official said.
“Villagers were scooping fuel from the fallen tanker when it caught fire and exploded,” Kayode Olagunju, regional head of the Federal Road Safety Corps, said today by phone from Port Harcourt. “The death toll from the fire has risen to 95 with 18 people injured.”
Rescue workers and firefighters are still working to bring the continuing blaze under control, Olagunju said.
Nigeria, Africa’s top oil producer, relies on road haulage for domestic distribution of fuel amid increasing sabotage of pipelines by criminal gangs stealing products from the pipelines to sell, according to the Petroleum Ministry. The West African country relies on imports for most of its fuel supply due to a lack of refining capacity.
At least 100 people died when a ruptured gasoline pipeline caught fire on May 15, 2008 in a suburb of Lagos, the commercial capital.

So, you're the continent's top producer of oil, yet you can neither manage to refine it for your own use nor safeguard your pipelines against theft by your own criminal elements.
Yep. Definitely kinda bad.

Complete bullshit propaganda from the Jew media.
Gasoline isn't shipped by pipeline anywhere.
The real story is the hidden war being waged by proxy armies on behalf of big oil companies in the Nigerian Delta.
But you aren't interested in realpolitik, because you're American and by extension, morons.

We're not talking about natural gas, numbnuts.
The intent of the article is clear to those that are familiar with the backstory.

That's pretty common among dirt eaters. The Iranians are in the same boat. Their refining capacity is something like 30% to 40% of domestic demand. It's one reason their threats to attempt to cut the Straights of Hormuz are laughably stupid.
We could shut their entire economy down in a day and be back home for lunch.

Okay, now we're getting into some serious "Holy fuck! " territory...
Obama: Biggest mistake too much perspiration, not enough inspiration
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/obam ... 152391.htm
Call it "too much substance, not enough style?" President Barack Obama says his biggest mistake since getting to the White House three and a half years ago has been his tendency to tackle the job as national policy wonk rather than the inspiring figure he cut in the 2008 campaign.
"When I think about what we've done well and what we haven't done well," the president told CBS television in an interview, "the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right."
"And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times," Obama said in an excerpt of the exchange with Charlie Rose.
Presidents — politicians in general — tend to sidestep questions about their biggest mistake in office, though they sometimes stumble spectacularly over them (as George W. Bush did in April 2004), or offer up a self-serving answer that might be lampooned as "I just love America too much." Obama seems to be saying that, dagnabbit, he just took the job too gosh-darn seriously. Republicans wasted little time in mocking the answer. Republican National Committee spokesman Tim Miller tweeted "I'd go w/ utter economic failure."
And Mitt Romney hit out hard at Obama: "Being president is not about telling stories."
"Being president is about leading, and President Obama has failed to lead. No wonder Americans are losing faith in his presidency," Romney said in a statement.
Obama also seemed to make the argument that he just can't catch a break.
"It's funny - when I ran, everybody said, 'well he can give a good speech but can he actually manage the job?'" he said. "And in my first two years, I think the notion was, 'Well, he's been juggling and managing a lot of stuff, but where's the story that tells us where he's going?' And I think that was a legitimate criticism."
"So getting out of this town, spending more time with the American people, listening to them, and also, then, being in a conversation with them about where do we go together as a country, I need to do a better job of that in my second term," the president said.
Rose pressed him, asking whether he means explaining, and Obama replied: "Explaining — but also inspiring."
"Because hope is still there," First Lady Michelle Obama added.
We indeed may be doomed.

Right, which is why I included the 'neither/nor' addendum. Iran may not be able to refine enough of their own oil, but I'm reasonably certain that they're heavy-handed enough with their own criminal element as to dissuade the locals from trying to dick with Iran, Inc.

No maybe about it. The stupid is flying fast and furious.
Mitt Romney went to the NAACP’s National Convention planning to get booed. It was no mistake. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi told Bloomberg TV she believes “it was a calculated move on his part to get booed at the NAACP convention.”
