I will never understand the attraction of that band, much less any sane man's admission of having an attraction to that band.

Yeah. Mark Mothersbaugh is something of an odd duck, but a talented artist. The whole concept of 'Devo' being the de-evolution of culture and society was quite prophetic when you look at the complete idiocracy that we are becoming.

And if you can't rock to mongoloid or gut feeling, the problem is that you take yourself way too seriously.

I believe PSUFAN seconded my rack of any and all Devo resets about a year ago, so tread lightly, spud.

You guys must have grown up loving comic books and black-and-white episodes of Lost in Space.

Probably had posters of Mork from Ork on your bedroom walls, too.

Is that a problem? Next thing you know, you'll be bagging on Talking Heads and Gary Numan.

Sorry, dude. There's more to music than notes, chords and progressions.

There's no place for transgression in Van's tightly scripted existence.

In his fictitious world, he's the hero that gets the girl.

No, and yes. The former were badasses. The latter was an eyeliner-dependent, Casio-addled dork.

Yep, like soul, feeling, talent, composition, and a reliance on something other than silly gimmickry that appears dated as fuck almost immediately. Devo was a group of reasonably talented musicians who unfortunately buried whatever talents they may have possessed beneath a pile of P.T. Barnum Meets MTV cynical goonishness.
