Recruits (!)

So, I was wondering about a certain recruit, and which year it was (insignificant to this discussion, and I don't even remember now), so I checked with Rivals.

Their list lets you go back to 2002.

If you're bored, go back through the years, starting with 2002, and see how guys did. I based their success strictly on their CFB career, rather than any subsequent pro career, but some years, the rankings were decent... others, not so much.

Some of the top guys had me saying "who?"

Some years, I had more memories of 50-100 guys than the top 50.

And no one, but no one produces 4 and 5 star duds at the clip USC does... although Bama has their share (and my team isn't innocent of this, either).

And no one but no one over that same timeframe assembled as vast a collection of 4 and 5 stars as USC, so of course they also produced the most 4 and 5 star duds. A lot of those duds became so precisely because other 4 and 5 stars kept them on the bench.

No, not really. More USC myopia.

The list of 4-5's that flopped was astounding, and certainly not exclusive to USC. Plenty of them everywhere (including good ol' U of O).

USC, over the long term, does generally get the most, and can be expected to produce the most flops. Fair enough.

But your assertion that they were made into flops by other 4-5 stars is...

off-the-charts retarded.

Again something you need to take another run at.

Van, I'll let you in on a secret -- schools that get lots of talented athletes, and are loaded at that position...

they convert them to other positions, which doesn't change their elite-athlete status.

Since you're clowning... you know DAT was a DB, right? At the time, it was thought that DuhO was rife with DB's (nice w2ork, Cliffy), and needed a big play speedback and return guy.

Didn't Robert Woods start as a DB? I guess all those 5 star DB's rendered his career a flop, eh?

Oregon's got LB's that were TE's in HS. Got WR's that were QB's in HS... shall I go on, or will you retract your latest bout of stupid?

Gotta agree with Mgo there. While Mizzou's Golden Girl ranks are no doubt loaded with stunners, not one of those pics is really all that impressive. Perhaps the whole Metallic Sluts From Outer Space thing has jumped the shark.

had some Golden Girls in classes with me. in fact, I remember one small rowof students included three Golden Girls and then my future wife. one of those things was not like the others.

I think they mainly just need new outfits. Ditch the gold lamé Liberace gear with the outdated Cowgirls knockoff boots, find some girls with actual C-cup or larger breasts now and then, give them something a whole lot clingier to show off those nicer tits, and you're all set. I'm sure the basic talent is there in abundance.
