Genesis 12:1-3
[1] Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
God calls Abraham out of a background which was completely swallowed up by idol worship ---> destruction.
And he brought him to a state where he is not only blessed, but where he IS a blessing.
When a person takes the step to receive the salvation which God has freely given (Christ), he becomes exactly like Abraham.
He is taken out of the grip of idolatry which is his destruction, and he becomes a blessing.
Galatians 3:29 - 4:7
[29] And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
[1] Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
[2] But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
[3] Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
[4] But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
[5] To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
[6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
[7] Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Verse 1-3: we were previously in bondage to satan.
Verse 4-7: As promised, Christ came, broke the law of sin and death, made us sons of God who are heirs to all which God created.
It is a complete restoration of the original blessing which God gave to Adam.
If you are blessed enough to be hearing God's Word, you are being called just like Abraham was.
