We were looking at a couple of 2008 Miatas for my wife and I spotted the 'Stang.
They had a Laguna Seca in the showroom and a couple of Boss 302s. Good ol' daze revisited.
Love the new front end look.
Way to ruin a nice set of wheels. We used to call that "sick vomit green."

That puke ass green is not even close to what the Bullit green was. One of the most bad ass awesome Mustangs ever built. Ford has some F 150s in that same color..probably going to get one of those next year when I find one.

You were probably picturing Alabama’s uniforms when Nike puts that color on them.

At first glance until I saw the pony logo, thought it was a MoPar/Dodge. They did that color back in the day. Crappy color for a nice machine.

the only green car I ever thought was worth a shit
I've seen those iridescent green camaro's and thought they were the ugliest fucking cars I'd ever seen
now that I've sold my Saleen mustang, I'm looking for a new ride
I'm seriously considering the Rousch Stage 3 mustang
took a ride in one back in Indianapolis and that thing just flat hauls ass
540 hp, handles like no other high performance car I've been in, and just looks seriously bad ass.....

Felix,
How often do you get to use 540hp?
Intown driving certainly doesn't require it and even with the speed limits on the interstates on 75 you can't get much from that HP. As for the 0-60 time the Mustangs get there just under 5 while my Tahoe will get there in just over 7.
Both will get a ticket when speeding just as quickly.

about the same amount as I used the 492 hp the Saleen dynoed out at

I'm be on my second beer by the time your Tahoe rolled up....even the 302 boss mustang can hold a candle to the Roush.....I'm just a speed freak

The Mustang green is a shade or two lighter than the Camaro's color.
The 1800 VTX used to come in what I think they called 'Iridium" or something like that. This pic doesn't show it well, but it was a nice green.

Eh Sam, on the subject, any thoughts on this or do you know anything about it?

It's just a standard Bonneville T100 painted olive green, with the additions of a skidplate, a different seat, and a bunch of blacked-out trim pieces.

Yeah, but I'm looking for a Bonneville and came across this, but didn't have the brains to read the bit about them only producing 1100 so it'll be impossible to get.

So just get a T100 and take a walk over to the Parts Department on your way out. They'll be happy to turn your standard Bonnie into a non-certified Steve McQueen replica for you. Hell, just get yourself two cans of paint, one green and one black, and you're 90% of the way there.

Our local Triumph retailer had a new one on the floor just two weeks ago. Eh. In terms of looks I still prefer the standard T100, and the basic Bonneville or Bonneville SE are simply superior motorcycles.

Looking at used and for anything quality, is around 5 - 6 thousand fulas, what with the Canadian dollar being equal to the Yanquee Peso. I'm just wondering whether it's worth shelling out more and saving in repair costs by buying new. It's not that much more, really.

You're right, it really isn't. Bonnies have such good resale value that you don't save all that much by buying used. The other thing with going used is, well, how old were you thinking? I wouldn't go any older than an '09 since that's the year they switched over to EFI. Sure helps with cold starts and riding at any sort of altitude. You probably would also be better off avoiding the smaller displacement ones, back before they punched them out to their current 850 status.

I'm not bothered really, so long as it doesn't need excessive work. To be honest, I've got a friend who builds bikes who's looking for me and he's sending me adverts on what he thinks are deals on Bonnevilles going back as far as 1971.

Haven't looked recently at vintage Bonnies (or nearly vintage anyway, since you only said '71), but I would imagine that a clean, (semi)reliable specimin dating that far back may very well run more than a new one.
I'm with you, though. Sure, they're slower than fuck and fairly useless functionally, but I love Bonnevilles. Definitely a killer bike for city riding.

That's it really, a decent look and a city bike. I'm not really interested in speed, just enjoy driving. And of all the people you could emulate, aside from Nicolae Ceaușescu, Steve McQueen isn't a bad choice. Cheers!

Thinking about bidding on this Mercedes at the auction up in Pebble Beach this weekend.
It's actually a little underpowered for my taste, but I do like the look.

Nice cars. Friend of the family bought one of these when he got back from Vietnam. I was probably about 11-12 or so, and he came to a family function in that car. Got me and another kid in there and took us for a ride. I had already been around a lot of fast cars, my dad and uncle ran a gas dragster back in the day in the LA scene, so I was into cars and then this guy laid into this thing from a standing start. Fucking awesome burnout through 3 gears, then a push you back in the seat acceleration through about 125 mph. Then and there I knew I wanted fast cars and to drive like that. 383 with a 6 pack, Hurst Super shifter on the 4 speed, just a real bad ass ride.
