Fortunately for USC and Matt Barkley, there is no game this week for the S.I. cover jinx to doom. It's only a week-long jinks, not an eternal one.
Besides, I feel pretty safe with their first game being in the Coliseum against Hawaii.

Nope, it's only a one-week jinx, otherwise those eight million S.I. covers surely would have derailed the careers of Michael Jordan and Muhammed Ali, and when did you ever hear of an S.I. swimsuit issue cover model go on to suffer a hangnail or a nasty wardrobe malfunction?
You gotta have a game immediately upcoming for the thing to take effect...and it can't be at home against Hawaii.

Yeah, the S.I. cover jinx hasn't exactly come back to bite too many Victoria's Secret models. If Matt Barkley enjoys the same relative success Niki Taylor experienced following her appearance on the cover of S.I., I'll be fine with that.
