Most Californians have nothing but disgust for Boxer. She's a do-nothing blowhard who only cares about abortion. Yet she wins time and again because every election cycle the CA Republican party nominates someone who is completely unelectible.

As for Pelosi, she gets re-elected every cycle because (whether you agree with them or not) she does an outstanding job identifying and representing the views of her constituents. Much of San Francisco is poor as fuck, so she works to fund programs that help the homeless, provide freebies to dirt poor people and drug diversion programs for homeless. Since her district is also homo-central, she has used her position on the House Appropriations Committee to fund programs for AIDS research, give free or low-cost healthcare to people with AIDS, etc, etc. And for the tree huggers in her district, she added a $30 million earmark to the Porkulus to restore the habitat of the salt harvest marsh mouse. :roll:

So you can hate Pelosi if you want (like everyone outside of SF does), but her record is a prime example of how to get re-elected to the US HOR.
