While I don't agree with it I do understand why they do it. I am not a native Oklahoman and did not stay after my undergrad years. Most of the Oklahoma City Public Schools have serious gang problems. Anyone who is slightly affluent in central Oklahoma moves to the burbs and their children attend Edmond, Putnam City, Yukon, Mustang, Moore, and Norman public schools. The actual Oklahoma City school district really does have some very rough and dangerous situations at the majority of their schools.

as a native Oklahoman and a proud one at that....the story was overreported and winnowed for maximum nonsense but sensational value by the reputable yahoo. sure, it's absurd and the Michigan AD is a bit of a tool imo for making it such a story....but, for fuck's sake, the movie the Tin Drum (from Gunter Grass's novel) is or was illegal to show in Oklahoma since it had an oral sex scene. as SCS says, the gang thing is bad in the OKC public system. lot of white flight from the public schools. it's nonsense and whitebread baptist nonsense...but, that's how things are. turning the shirt inside out is a bad bad solution. for people so concerned about free speech and the 2nd amendment....you'd think a lot of us would identify this contradiction.....about "civil liberties". anyways....

funny how the people who vote for their elected Representatives think there's too much Big Government in the Bible Belt (or anywhere really) are the one's who are first to legislate how people do/don't behave.

Rack King Crimson and JSC.

And I'm surprised to see Schmick, of all people, bitching about this. He's the one who favors requiring all schools to only recruit in-state. I'm sure he'd be all for it if the LAUSD adopted a similar policy about USC.

What does a Michigan T shirt on a 5 year old toe headed white kid have to do with Gangs?

A better question in my eyes is why a toe headed white kid was even going to an OKC public school.

Yep. This one could have real staying power.

Here's Bruce Willis when he was a toe head.
