In before the time zone jokes.

14-7 at half. They'll get it together.

Why is there a thread for this? It would be bigger news if Nevada wasn't winning.

I've been saying for 5 years that Tedfraud needs to go.

Cal may win this one in spite of Maynard and Tedfraud.... god they're both horrible beyond belief.

24-24.

Thank god Cal has NFL players on the team... because we sure as hell have "high school" coaching.

So far, a perfect record at the "new" stadium.

Nice job by Nevada against the best defense in college football.

Hey bitch...didn't you say Cal would win the national championship. Didn't I throw out a bet for you? Didn't your pussy ass never reply. You piece of shit, pussy ass little bitch.....Open a new stadium, lost to Nevada.....you have NFL players.....well if you do how come you can't beat fucking Nevada. You're such a bitch and your pathetic excuse for a football program need to just wither up and go away.
Wait.....the bus ride was too long......they were in awe of the view....they were too busy looking at the new stadium....this is only one loss on your way to another national championship.....
Fuck off bitch.

Yep, proving once again that Cal is one of the best teams in the nation at home. This one couldn't even be blamed on Maynard either. Zero picks.

Nope, Nevada just beat the dogsnot out of that vaunted Cal defense, totalling nearly 500 yards equally divided between the run and pass in a legitimate pounding.

Meanwhile...

HAAAAAAAAAAA!

USC's first play from scrimmage of 2012, a 75-yard catch and run TD to Marqise Lee!

pac 12 doormat is looking like Colorado right now. no proper disrespect to Cal avoided....however, i'm sure the Cal linebackers were blazing fast in the loss.

Easy Van...it's Hawaii. No different than ND fan thinking they've got something going because they beat Navy. Sc may have to worry about Syracuse....oh wait, no they won't. Maybe they'll have to worry about Cal....oh no, they won't. Maybe Cal can schedule Pomona Pitzer or the Claremont Mudd colleges. They can't beat anyone else so why not.....Hey stoolio....fuck off you bitch. Nice new stadium and you can't even beat Nevada....... :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal: :hfal:

Damn, Lax, I can almost hear your glee as you clacked out all those "fuck you" smilies to M2. Bwaaa.

And hey, all I said about the Hawaii game was that our first play from scrimmage for the year was a 75-yard Barkley-to-Lee TD. I mean, c'mon, you gotta admit, those are kinda unusual.

...and Barkley still would have thrown for 300+ against Cal and Lee would have caught 3 TD passes.
Southern Utah.......wow, maybe they can eeek out a win vs. the mighty whatever the hell their mascot is.......

Wazzou looked pretty awful Thursday night. I'd say their tiff in Pullman with CU on 9/22 is likely to determine the cellar, although Cal certainly looks like an intriguing dark horse...

From my understanding, they debated between the "Mormon Fucks" and the "Ungodly White White People" before finally settling on the "Hills Have Eyes."

I wasn't very impressed at all by USC's performance last night. Really sloppy. The timing was definitely not there between Barkley, Woods and Lee, and the defense didn't exactly blow me away either.

From what I saw, the defensive line will always be the question mark this season, which doesn't bode well should they face Bama. I'm not worried about LSU's meh offense, but Bama's would give me pause simply because of Barrett and their power running attack. USC's defense is now constructed to combat the speed of a spread offense, so they may be a little too light up front.

Oh well. As slow starts go, it was decent enough.

The offense will come around with more playing time under their belts.

I was only able to catch maybe half of the game (middle two quarters) but the entire team looked pretty impressive. Of course it was against Hawaii. One thing I'm pretty sure of, though, is that by mid-season I'll be sick of the ghetto gang-banger attitude that at least half of the players seem intent on bringing to the table. It's too bad because I really want to like this team.

Pac-12 as a whole looked pretty unimpressive, save for the usual two suspects.

Cal, Colorado and Washington State all lost to less than awesome opponents.

Stanford struggled against San Jose State.

Arizona needed OT to get by Toledo.

Unfortunately, this will be the case for you. Sorry you have to see it in person.

Their QB this year (Cody Fajardo) is a faster and more accurate version of Colin Kaepernick.

South Florida will be in trouble with the altitude and the speed at which this years team (Nevada) plays at.

My recommendation... is that USF tries to run the ball and not give up on trying to run (like Tedfraud) always does and you might be able to keep it close (within 3 TD's).

If you get to Reno a couple of days early... I'd suggest you take a short trip up to Lake Tahoe and enjoy the last part of summer so the trip won't be a complete disaster.

Mikey, not saying you're wrong, but who were these "at least half the team had ghetto gang-banger attitudes" guys you say you saw?

I only saw one unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and the infraction wasn't even caught on camera. Otherwise, to what are you referring?

It's not about callable offenses but a combination of things that point to attitude,
Bitching that you don't get the ball enough. Acting like some kind of prima donna after making a pedestrian play, or that you have some kind of "cred" to defend beyond just playing a good game. Bear Bryan's quote about acting like youv'e been there before applies but covers only part of it.

There was one penalty that I saw that applies, and that was the holding call on Woods in the third quarter when really it looked like he was trying to start a fight. Coouldn't see exactly what happend but it prolly had someting to do with defending some kind of cred. Watch a couple episodes of "The Wire", put some crimson and gold (or watever the colors are) on the street thugs and you might get some idea.

Like I said, it has to do with attitude, sometimes intangible, but it adds up. I know, it's an emotional game and this exists to some degree everywhere but at some point it goes over the top. I'm just hoping that SC doesn't go there.

You probably don't get any of this and, if not, so be it. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I get it, I just didn't see many examples of it, and certainly no more than most any other team other than maybe Stanford, ND, Penn St or Northwestern.

My post had a little sarcasm in it.

Saw the highlights of the game and it looked like you WR's could get deep, but either dropped the ball, or had underthrown balls from the QB.

Nevada's QB looked good, but our front 7 seven is strong and fast, so I don't see him running to the outside the way he did against Cal. I worry about what they can do passing though.

We have 2 starters back from our OL who didn't play last week, so we should be good to go. Looking forward to a good game.

that's the story, but part of that is Bryant saw the inevitable. Texas wins the MNC in 1970 with an all-white team. plenty of that to go around, isolating Bear or Bama isn't really fair. not disputing you Goobs, just the m2 puppetry.

Still, it took Sam Cunningham to get Alabama to accept blacks. Maybe not Bear himself, but everyone else.

That's far more damning than any indictment of a single coach. (And with as much power as Bear wielded in that state and especially over that program, the fact is that he could have gotten it done much sooner had he really wanted to. He is not wholly blameless in Alabama's shameful foot-dragging.)

Hey! Are you saying Cal's front seven isn't strong and fast? But...but...Cal has the best D in the conference! They always do, you know. Just ask M2.

Good trip indeed.

It looked like we were going to get run out of the building in the first quarter, but we made a couple of adjustments and fought back. It also helped that our speed at WR was a big difference on all the deep TD's.
