Not sure I'm ready to annoint Oregon #1 yet, but that's the defense we were promised this season. They were awesome, shutting out a very good offensive team (Zona's defense started pretty strong, just got worn down in the 2nd half).

Still not sure Bama is what we thought they were, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

And LSU -- it's not like Auburn was some juggernaut on both sides of the ball... they might have improved a bit over their earlier efforts, but they weren't some world-beater, yet they still made LSU look like crap. I can't see LSU being there at the end of the season.

So, rather randomly:

1 - Bama
2-Oregon
3 - FSU
4-10 - Fuck if I know... Georgia, ND, WVU, and then pick some undefeateds.

BTW, Spray -- before you get too excited about Oregon, keep in mind they've played 3 cupcakes (OK, 2.75 cupcakes), and 1 good team, and they flew on SEC Airlines to all 4 of them.

While Mariota is improving every week leaps and bounds, he's still shaky, and against a fast team like USC or any of the top SEC teams, that ain't going to cut it.

Uhm... they did. Hence, people dropping them in the rankings (at least us armchair types).

Ws it the disorganization on defense, or the poor QB/WR play, or the insufficient running game that convinced you they were a contender?

Not that LSU can't get it together, but right now, they shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Bama. I think UGA looks better, right now.

The Blinders of Homerism -- most of us usually are "concerned" when our team puts on such a slopy effort that they barely beat a bottom feeder, going into some tough games.

Call me crazy.

Thedy told you LSU didn't look like crap yesterday?

Guess what?

They lied.

USC - you should have beaten Cal worse, but I'd have them at #11.
They beat the spread and scored 27 against the best defense in BTPCF.
What's not to like?

Who did Cal lose to in week 1? Nevada kicked Hawaii's ass yesterday harder than USC did.
You must not have sensed my sarcasm. I was actually looking for about a 40 point grudge fuck beatdown.
Very disappointed in the Trojans. They looked timid even against the teddy bears.

Wasn't Mettenberger one of the QBs you listed that made SEC QBing so "deep," even though you'd never seen him play (yet didn't give any other conference similar consideration when discussing their depth)?

That bit of SECnology was amusing... glad you came back to Reality.
