MSU vs OSU

I can't ever remember feeling so apathetic about a "big game" before. I'm sure once the beers start flowing tomorrow afternoon, I'll be ready to go.
I'm looking for cripple fight version 2.0. Last year MSU led 10-0 with like 30 seconds left in the game and let up a TD in garbage time. Still pissed off about that. I wanted to see a doughnut on that Horseshoe scoreboard, damnit.
I don't see either offense doing much in this game. MSU will eventually gets its passing game going, but I don't see that happening tomorrow.
Winner - 14
Loser - 10
Haven't decided yet who's who in that result.
I found this quote from Johnathan Hankins interesting, on Le'Veon Bell:
I'm going to try to rip his head off
Good luck with that, son.

Yeah...OSU will have to get to Maxwell and hope they can rattle him early...
Bell is a load no doubt...but Big Hank is well Big...so we'll see what happens...
I look for OSU to edge out a close one like 21 - 17 or some such
sig bet?

Agree that this will probably be a low-scoring, ugly game. Both teams will need to make some plays in the air, something that any OSU or MSU fan is not all that confident about.
I'd like to think OSU will win this game, but first conference game on the road, we've been scabdicking wins at home thus far, I don't have high expectations here. :(

This is a very strange MSU team. They rack up yardage and dominate time of possession, but can't score points. The defense has been dominant, yet can't force any turnovers. A once reliable field goal kicker is missing chip shots by a zilly yards.
It's so ridiculous but if the WRs could do something as basic as catch the football, this team could go from mediocre to pretty fucking good.

Sure, why not? 2 weeks? You don't post enough for 1 week to be much of a punishment.

was thinking everyone was distracted by the al central race but that's even more of an exercise in malaise. the entire midwestern sports scene is pretty futile right now. bunch of club-footed retards wearing officially-licensed jerseys, basically.

If Dantonio is any ounce less outgoing in his post game presser this week compared to last, I will be satisfied.

I don't care if opposing fans think he's a dick. People need to realize that his all business attitude is a refreshing welcome from Johnelle's constant comedy act. I'll take asshole and 10 wins over 5-win funny guy who's more interested in running with the bulls than recruiting the Detroit pipelines.

Props to the Buckeyes. That one hurt. So many opportunities and just couldn't capitalize. The passing game is coming around, but it's still not translating into points. Andrew Maxwell has taken a lot of heat, but I think he's been playing well. If his WRs could just cut out the drops. He hasn't thrown a pick since the Boise State game. Big issue with the offensive line though. Can't pass block and run blocking is very inconsistent. Bell has gotten much of his yardage almost entirely on his own. Scary to think what he could do behind a good OL. He still leads the Big Ten in rushing, I believe. Oh, and three starters on that OL are now injured. Back to the patchwork units like last year. Ugh.
I'm rarely one to complain about officiating, but the Braxton Miller fumble which resulted in a dead ball whistle really pissed me off. That should have been 7 points for MSU. In a game where points were at a premium, that blown call had a big impact.
Oh well. There were still 12 minutes left in the game, and MSU had some chances and did nothing. OSU, and Braxton Miller in particular, made plays in clutch moments and deserved the W.

way to man up MGO...
King...yeah most if all of us on this board man up and call it like we see it (the only outlier is that rein faire pussy)...
it was a hard hitting game for sure...OSU was intent on stopping bell and by and large did that (although he caught a lot of passes out of the backfield)...the only shit play from OSU on defense was when they were trying to strip the ball on the MSU TD...tackle the fucker...
I thought the play to devin smith was called at the right time - Brax threw a beautiful pass and smith had at least 2 steps on the corner...great call and execution...one thing OSU chewed clock when they needed to down the stretch...which gives OSU fans a sense of relief...
another big tilt this weekend with the Cornholers coming to C BUS...
good luck the rest of the way MGO...freaking Gholston is a fucking beast and I am a huge Bell fan...tough loss...please fist fuck little brother (yep MSU is big brother to skunk bears little now)...

Late getting back in here but a pretty good win for OSU, given the fact that we turned the ball over way too much and nearly got Braxton Miller murdered on more than one occasion. I was pretty impressed with MSU's QB. Thought he played really well and throws a great ball, just that his receivers bailed on him when Sparty really needed it.
I still think our offense relies far too much on Miller's legs, though there were some signs that we have some WRs and RBs willing to step it up a bit. Defense still scares the shit out of me. Nebraska game should be a very good one.

Even with the fact that he was OSU's DC in '02 aside, I'm actually a big fan of Dantonio and think he's the right guy at MSU. Thank god they foreclosed on Johnelle long ago. :)
