Yeah Sam, Oregon definitely "struggled" en route to scoring 5000 points (on a team that's been inconsistant, but plays very well for a few minutes here, a few minutes there, then their D falls apart, and the new QB does something dumb)).
Chip plays things a little closer to the vest in the first half these days -- I'm guessing it has something to do with getting ready for the crazy outside-in defenses the top SEC teams seem to bring... since we're anticipating seeing one in January. Once the overall strategy gets dialed in, all the stops get pulled in the second half... it's not "struggling," it's just a new twist on Chipball.
But yeah, while Bama and Oregon still don't have that signature win, they appear to be running away with this thing.
