Normally I do, but I forgot to specify my side this time and they gave me fries (probably the default choice for dopes who don't specify their side).

The fries sucked.
Whenever possible I always get the alternate side at the "big" fast food joint (i.e. baked potato at Wendy's). I save the fry eating for my local fish 'n chip joints and the mom and pop burger places.
