Bama takes a bye, and people de-rank them?

You'z some cold motherfuckers.

The Fighting Geno's are looking pretty good.

Not Too Lame is playing some D.

The Visors are a darned good team.

My Ducks will roll all of them, though.

Nah, I doubt it. If anything, I expect M2 is probably kinda pissed at the thought of this win possibly securing "Fatfurd"'s job.

Close enough.

Bruins were not comfortable garnering that type scrutiny so they retreated back into their comfort zone of mediocrity.

Much as I hate to put SC with one loss above another one loss team that beat them, Stanford has been a little shaky since that win. Nunes did seem to wake up against 'zona, though, with 360 yards, 2 TD passes, no ints and three rushing TDs. If They beat the child molesters next week they should definitely jump back into the top 10.

I still think South Carolina is overrated but they keep trying to prove me wrong. Every team from 2 through 10 on that list seems pretty vulnerable to a loss at any time.

1. Alabama. This looks like their best team in recent memory, and that's saying a lot.

2. Oregon. The offense is scary good.

3. South Carolina. Looked very impressive in dismantling a Georgia team that had looked very good until this week.

4. West Virginia. Who cares if they can't play defense? They can outscore anybody except perhaps U&LU (would definitely be an entertaining matchup).

5. Kansas State. Very impressive so far.

6. Notre Dame. I refrained until now 'cuz I didn't want to be accused of drinking the Kool-Aid. But I think they're for realz. In a sense, this is the anti-West Virginia -- their defense is tough enough to win the game even when the offense barely shows up.

7. tOSU. Clearly the class of the B1G this year, for whatever that is worth.

8. Florida. Had my doubts until this week. Beating LSU, even an overrated LSU team, is impressive.

9. Oregon State. Between 8 and 9 is where I see the real drop-off right now, Oregon State appears to be the best of the bunch right now.

10. USC. Had a rough outing against Stanford, but don't take them lightly.

KSU will lose to better talent at some point, but the old man's teams (and this was true last year)....the cats don't beat themselves. something i wish i could have said about OU two weeks ago.

i don't know if there are less than 3-4 teams better than KSU, but not beating yourself with penalties and turnovers is a lot to winning football games.

edit: and the vintage KSU Snyder teams always had some freakish special teams. fast, aggressive D translated to special teams and electric KR/PR returners.

BTW, for all you Pick'Emers and whatnot...

Oregon State's budding superstar QB, Sean Mannion, blew up a knee.

While Riley has been a witch at plugging in new QBs and making a go of it (sup Jonathan Smith, Derek Anderson, et al), I'll take a wait and see attitude on this one. OS is none too deep to begin with, so it could hurt.
