Girardi has ran out of bullets so tonight he is throwing the proverbial empty pistol at the Tigers. I can see them extending this to Thursday if they win the battle on the mound. Through all of his crazy moves last night...he didn't burn Robertson or Soriano so he's got the back end of his bullpen and his horse going tonight. If there is a chance to break through, it's tonight.
The Tigers bats haven't been frightening, just good enough. Holding Infante at 3rd almost bit them in the ass. They're doing just enough to give the Yankees a puncher's chance at the end...Verlander gives up a leadoff home run and Coke allows them to get guys on base with a chance to tie or go ahead after looking so out of it all night. But don't get me wrong...this won't go back to the Bronx because Fister will finish it tomorrow if they don't do it tonight.
