Sparty vs Bucky

Last half a dozen games between these two have been intense, particularly last year where the better team won the game that mattered. I think they're very closely matched again, records notwithstanding. Badgers need to protect their QB and they should be fine.

24-20?

Did both teams suddenly remember how to play offense?

I'll go with 4-2, Bucky.

MSU is ranked 5th nationally in total defense despite an offense that goes three-and-out damn near every possession. I can't help but think what their record would be with just a semi-competent offense.

Fucking sigh...

Wisky 20
MSU 16

At least I got to shed that awful chickenhawk avatar. I feel so much better.

Maxwell is an average-to-below average passer and game manager...10th out of the 12 starting QBs in the conference in rating and 109th overall. Whether Bell can get his yards on the ground, I just don't see enough out of Maxwell to win games, especially on the road. He didn't entirely pucker in Ann Arbor last week but with Bell getting less than 3 yards a carry...he didn't make enough big plays with his arm to be a difference maker.

Bucky wins a low(er) scoring game...21-13.

Maxwell has been fine and way down the list of concerns from an offensive standpoint. The o-line has been god awful. Can't protect him to save his life. Have had at least three starters injured most of the year, but I don't think they were all that good before the injuries anyway. The drops from the WRs have stalled an awful lot of drives as well. But, those guys have played much better of late. I think Burbridge is going to be a good one.

Fortunately get TE Dion Sims back from injury today. He is a huge part of the offense.

Wisky's hit 30 five games in a row. Did you suddenly forget how to use the interwebs?

Sudden Sam wrote:No they haven't.

They did in fact manage to rack up over 30 against the defensive juggernauts known as UTEP, Illinois, Perdont, and Minny.

In that 5 game stretch, they were held to under 30 by a team that actually had a number by their name.

A little birdy called Yahoo Sports told me that.

My bad. Nebraska had the 30, Wisky the 27. Nonetheless, they've run for over 800 yards in their past two games. I don't care who it was against, they haven't forgotten how to play offense. MSU may force a temporary memory loss, though.

7-3 at half? Sounds about right.

Only this offense can have a 1st down at the opponent's 11 yard line and end up punting.

Should have kicked a field goal on 1st down.

i'm sure you do feel better. After going to the Northwestern game yeaterday, i'd probably feel better if I could shed the avatar too. The Hawkeyes are pathetic. The defense looked as pathetic as the offense yesterday so I won't be shocked if Indiana hangs 50 on them next week. Props to Sparty for knocking off the Badgers yesterday.

The worst part about making a road trip (other than actually watching Iowa play the game) is not being able to watch any other games. I'd like to have watched MSU-Wisky, Georgia-Florida, and ND-OU games. Anyway, Iowa sucks...did I say that already?

Rough day for Wisco. Lose in OT and snap their 21 game home win streak. Lose their starting QB for the year. Lose their starting POINT GUARD for the year.

Am I supposed to feel bad about all/any of those things?

Props to Sparty.

I knew when we were in trouble when it became a shootout in the second half.
