This is a huge victory for personal freedom. And the first brick crumbles...

Call me naive, but I have a feeling Obama will call off the dogs now that he's been reelected and doesn't have to worry about being labeled "soft on drugs." I could be proven wrong, but I have high hopes, no pun intended.

Here in the home of decriminalization, the potsmokingest state there is, the legalization measure failed. Something more reasonable would have passed easily, but anyone who wanted to grow for personal use (the measure allowed anyone to grow) had to pay outrageous fees and taxes and there was going to be a government hand out at every turn.

Still didn't fall too much short, though.

Supporters will regroup, and win the next one, I'm fairly sure. Oregonians don't just want to be able to buy it at the store -- they want to be free to grow it... and don't want to plunk down $1000 just to apply for a license (which then costs a few hunny more).

There should be complete freedom to grow your own. I do think there should be some sort of licensing for those that want to sell it. Pretty much what we already have with those other drugs, tobacco and alcohol.

I guess it figures that your libtards couldn't pass on the opportunity to make it a giant tax collection opportunity.

Completely agree.

I can't get behind anything that isn't unregulated home grown for home use. If you want to sell it for a profit, then it should be subject to the same rules as any other agricultural endeavor.

If it's GMO it should be labeled though.

let's not go sucking each others dicks just yet.

the ballot measure was officially titled the "Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act".

nobody really knows exactly what that even means just yet. there will be licensing, permits, taxes, expanded DUI checkpoints... etc

This. My industry won't touch it. We actually got a call from a Colorado pot store about six weeks ago desperate for service.

We laughed.

You're naive. He's going to jump on them with both feet. The Feds are seriously fucking with dispensaries in California and have been for months.

He was never worried about being labeled soft on drugs. Nobody cares about pot.
