Cali, Washington and Ct are sure to suffer the wrath of this worse than most. They'll give new meaning to "blue state".

You have a problem with reductions in federal spending?

He's just following Cliton's lead - cutting defense, not replenishing anything. It makes the books look good until somebody bombs our ass.

Those were the excuses for going into Iraq and had nothing to do with increasing or decreasing the defense budget (the Iraq war was off budget anyway).

So I'll ask you again, when did anybody start bombing our ass because Boeing, or any other Military Industrial Complex black hole, had to stop decrease their sucking off the federal teat?

Spray;
So Boeing announces layoffs in one division that does defense work, and you're saying it's because Obama is either ruining the economy or wrecking the military?

Wipe the sausage gravy off your fingers & try doing a little research.

As far as the defense itself, try looking into what Rumsfeld was calling for when he was SecDef. He wanted a smaller, lighter force. Was he trying to ruin the American military as well?

And I can tell you that Boeing is doing just fine as a whole. Between the 787, 747-8, 767 tanker, and the future 737MAX they're ramping up production as a whole.

Stick to commenting on bowel movements instead of the aerospace field....it's more your level of intelligence.

Let me get this straight....spending money on defense is all about jobs?

I thought it was about protecting Americans from evildoers.

I only asked when did a cut in defense spending (which this Boeing thing is all about even though there hasn't even been a cut in defense spending) cause somebody to drop bombs on our ass.

Spray seems to think not only that 9/11 was caused or enabled or whatever by some imaginary cut in defense spending but that it's equivalent to somebody dropping bombs on our ass.

I swear he must have found his long lost stash of bangstill. I think he was in the early 5 min. to 40 min. stage when he was writing this.

Read the article carefully, it's actually very funny - it doesn't say anything, but here's the result of non-existant cuts:
The company said that it is “rotating assignments for several executives in its Defense, Space & Security unit.”
Boeing said its Defense, Space & Security unit should end up with 30% fewer executives at the end of 2012 versus 2010.
It's an imaginative way of announcing a management re-shuffle

Wonder what our fat, worthless Southern cad who reads gravy porn and is so concerned about 1000s of jobs thought about the auto bailout that saved over a million jobs.

Depleting our military. :meds: Pray tell us about the second-largest military power.

Do you honestly think the bailout saved A MILLION jobs?

Really?

Did this bailout magically increase future demand of cars by a few million?

Do I believe the military pisses away obscene amounts of money?

Fukk yeah, I do. I got pictures of two trips to hawaii as proof!!!!

The bailout did one thing. It took tax money from one group and handed it to another group. It is that simple. Back in the day we called that stealing.

Getting back to defense spending. It certainly is wasteful, but, it is a constitutionally mandated expense. Auto bailouts are not.

Do I think the auto bailout saved a million jobs? I don't conduct that sort of research so have to rely on people who do, so I guess so. I'll also go with it being completely plausible that the collapse of American auto manufacturers would have eliminated all the jobs associated with those companies as well as the even more associated with downstream companies wholly reliant on the Big 3 buying their shit. I'll also go with the return on investment being pretty nice considering all the tax collected from the people still with jobs as well as not having to pay them unemployment or give them food stamps. Then there's the over $100 billion governments collect in tax every year from those car companies. I suppose foreign companies would have moved in to help fill the smoking crater left by GM and Chrysler but they would have extracted some heavy tax concessions to do so.

Calm down old guy. I clarified it above. PS: Fiat is about to move Chrysler to Italy.
Well, that's not going to work. The streets there are much too narrow for anything made by Chrysler.

And how did that smaller force work out in Iraq? I'm sure all the troops blowing their brains out were grateful that a smaller force dramatically increased their op tempo. Whether or not he was trying to ruin the military is beside the point.

In any event, the drawdown began during Poppy's administration when Darth Chenron was SecDef. It shouldn't be needless to say, but Haliburton is still getting no-bid contracts under the current administration. Strange how that seems to have fallen off the radar once the Kenyan monkey took office. I'm sure it must be a coincidence, right?

First, is their a more apt pairing than Fiat and Chrysler? Probably the two biggest manufacturers of POSs in history. They deserve each other.

And no-bid contracts under Chimpy = Huge neocon conspiracy

No-bid contracts under Obummer = Stimulus

Rented a Peugeot in Italy last month. Less than 10,000 km on it and the electrical system was hosed up. The 12v sockets for running the GPS were dead. Found the bad fuse, replaced it, and it promptly blew again ('sup Cuda?)

Most of the time, it's because the socket is loose (it threads into a sleeve to secure it), and tightening the socket within the base fixes it.

But since it was a Puegot, it probably meant something was about to explode.

Puegot....    I had the misfortune to have to work on those engines in some turf equipment. The manufacturer kept changing engine suppliers over the years, and Puegot got the nod for 2 years. Horrible performance, bad parts support, very low engine life. The warranty work went through the roof, and they had to take back multiple units from really pissed off customers. Fucking Frenchies.
