You may or may not like this cats style, but I've become a fan

his name is Eric Bettencourt and I happened to have bought a Yairi Alvarez 12 string he owned......I'm not one to buy an instrument I've never played, but I own a 6 string Yairi and they are fantastic sounding guitars.....

he currently resides in Maine but is moving to Austin in couple of months to get a little more exposure....they guy is really talented and his voice reminds me of Rod Stewart in a lot of ways....give it a listen, you may like it....

He wants me to pick the bass up again. Said he could have me playing in his band in no time. I think he thinks more of my "ability" than he should. But I'm planning on finding one and giving it a shot.

there's nothing better than playing music with other people regardless of ones skill level, musical style, whatever......for me, it's my great release and regardless of how bad a day has gone, I can sit down with one of my guitars (or uke or mandolin) and turn a shitty day completely around....my father's love of music and his patience in teaching me the fundamentals of playing was the greatest gift he ever gave me.....

spend the money and take it back up Sam, it's worth it.....

If you listen to the song Ten Men from this album, you can hear the 12 string I bought from him.....he was nice enough to send me copies of all of his CD's when he sent the guitar....nice kid, I hope he does well.....
