Pac 12 CCG

It's supposed to rain all day in the Bay Area.
Does this give Stanford an advantage with their power running game or does it make it harder for their defense to catch up with Hundley and Franklin?

I'm pretty sure it starts after your bedtime anyway.
You might want to DVR it though (that's a digital video recorder, a recently developed high-tech device that we often use out here on the west coast).
These will be two of the top five teams next year.

Thanks for the reminder, not that is why you started the thread, but hey.
DVR set as I am off to officiate a 5A playoff game in Eagle Pass tonight.
Strange that the same two teams played 6 days ago, that has to be a first for CCG.

Huh?
Today is actually the first day I've seen the sun in the last few days.
Yesterday was a mother... with pouring rain/sideways and 50 mph winds.
Partly cloudy/sunny right now in the Bay Area and in the 60's... but who knows by game time.

I was going by the National Weather Service, because I don't have access to Bullwinkle's weather forecasting bunion.

I had the understanding that this topic was about the PAC CCG.....so why would Cal even come up in this thread?

Because they have the only uniforms uglier than UCLA's?

Gotcha. Are the Bears trying to compete with Oregon for that honor?

And looky here, yet another CCG that absolutely has no business being played. Didn't Stanford finish with a better record than UCLA, and didn't they just beat them head-to-head at UCLA's house less than a week ago?
So this game needs to be played...why?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The same reason there's 3,000 bowl games, conference realignment, and scheduling cupcakes so you can host 7 home games every year.

That ACC Cash Grab game will take place in a half-filled stadium, if they're lucky. Watching this Stanford-UCLA farce, Stanford Stadium looks to be equally empty despite a seating capacity of only 50,000. Even with a berth in the Rose Bowl on the line no one cares about this thing.
Worthless.

Stanford beat UCLA at the Rose Bowl last week to earn a chance to play them again at home for a chance to go back and play another game at the Rose Bowl.
Even without the won-lost records it makes perfect sense to me.

UCLA's unis are regal. Always liked 'em. These all-black unis that Stanford's sporting, with the trendy matte helmets, are fucking awful.

UCLA used to have really regal unis. These new plain ones look like K-Mart knock-offs.

I thought Stan was going to set an NCAA record for playing an entire game without a penalty being called against them...that long run had at least 1 clip....Too bad Hundley's brain checked out AGAIN after a quarter and a half...hope they brought longer cleats...if not it's the who can stay on their feel bowl....
Like the coaching adjustments by Mora, though....

Very fortunate to come out on top this time.
Gotta admire Shaw though. They didn't let UCLA force them to deviate from their game.
When it was 17-14 at half time even after UCLA had almost completely dominated I thought it was a good sign, but UCLA came out swinging agaig in the third.
Good game, but hard to watch.

Which is why the "you shouldn't be allowed to play in a BCS game if you don't win your conference" arguments are ridiculous.

Actually I was pulling like crazy for NIU. No team that loses to Kentucky should be allowed anywhere near a BCS game.
'sup, LSU?
Any team that lost to Iowa this year isn't very deserving either. Of course that didn't keep Michigan out of a BCS bowl last year.

No fans, shitty facilities, little history and tradition...and still light years ahead of Cal's program.

For Magoo anything that might have happened before 1980 doesn't count as tradition.

Yeah, everyone remembers those juggernaut 7-5 Stanford teams from the 1970s.
Stanford's illustrious history and tradition is pretty much wrapped up in one event: a loss to Cal.
These are the Golden Ages of Stanford football. Right now. Top 10 teams competing for Pac 12 championships every year, and your fan base is bringing in about 14 fans a game. You'll have to forgive folks from the midwest and the south if they're not in awe of your fervor and tradition. There are perennially mediocre programs around the country that pack 76,000+ into a stadium every Saturday.
Like I said, it's all relative.

Oh I see. My bad. Tradition starts in the 70s, not the 80s.

Tradition starts when you win and people care about it at the same time.

Jesus, you Pac12ers are a sensitive lot. It was obvious I only brought up Stanford to crack on toolio.
The SECBSHs get a lot more shit around here, but at least they can take it in stride.
