Sounds like the job is his if he wants it. As far as CU has fallen in the past seven years, I've gotta think it's still a better job than Purdue. Don't really know much about him. He seems to excel at following Brian Kelly around and maintaining success after he leaves, but he's never taken on a rebuilding project before, let alone one as daunting as the next Buffs' coach faces. Color me hesitantly optimistic...

did I read/hear that CU has COMMITTED to upgrades in facilities, etc? If so...why did they wait so fucking long?

Just asking as I just heard various talking heads on sports radio talking about how CU was trying to do a ton on the cheap with coaches, etc...

i was never a fan of the embree hire in the first place, but what the fuck good did they think it would do to fire him with 2 years left on his 4 year contract? for one thing, not more than one or two of his starters would start at any other school in d-1.

secondly, with the quick trigger they pulled on embree, nobody worth a fuck who has any ambition is going to want to take the job unless it's for so fucking much cash they can't afford to fire him for at least 6 to 8 years, if ever

After watching this Butch Jones courtship transpire/implode over the past couple days, I'm glad he passed on the gig. The guy seems to thrive on the (barely deserved) attention he gets every off season from desperate schools, all while milking Cincy for every last dime they can afford. Even if he had come to CU and turned things around, I wouldn't really want to deal with being on the other end of the whole courtship process every off-season as higher and higher profile schools come calling.

Apparently, the next names on Bohn-er's list are SJSU's Mike McIntyre and Fresno State's Tim DeRuyter, neither of whom are particularly awe-inspiring. I wish the powers that be at CU would just end this whole Bohn debacle right now and start over from scratch. What kind of idiot wouldn't even consider Tressel?

In related news, in a glaringly pathetic attempt to stay relevant, Mark Mangino withdrew his name from consideration, despite never being under consideration in the first place. Heh.

I actually managed to finangle my way up to those new east side suites during the second half of the Utah game. I was a few doors down from Bohn's suite, which also happened to be the only one with the door closed. It was all I could do to keep from barging in and firing him my damn self.

no shame in losing Jones to Tenn. but, this is getting ugly in Boulder.

i thought Bronco Mendenhall wasn't the worst idea. i like DeReuter but a 1 year HC stepping into this mess....i dunno.

CU needs to do a couple things they needed to do in the last hire:

1. fuck the McCartney nostalgia. clean house. this means Brian Cabral too.

2. stop hiring learn on the job coordinators. i count 3 straight CU OC's who are calling plays for the first time....under Hawkins and Embree. inexperienced at the BCS level HC's ought to be hiring someone who knows what the fuck. same with recruiting. Hawkins was a pompous prick (quickly humbled)....hire an assistant coach who knows BTPCF. same with recruiting. Embree's version of this was NFL jokers. Eric Bienemy was Adrian Peterson's "RB coach"....seriously?

mike bohn is a dick but i sure as hell would't want to live with the sanctimonious Mac people in the media around here....get over it. they had Barnett AND Embree to relive the good old days. hell, most programs only do nostalgia once....OU with Blake, Bama with Shula....or whatever....those days are gone. and where is CU now?

it is possible to win football games without the imprimatur of Coach Mac. guy is a loyal to a fault but he needs to shut his mouth and let go.
