He should hire Chizik as the DC.

Malzahn did a nice job at Arkansas State and I think this will be a good hire for Auburn. Spray and Carson should be okay with it.

Gus was my initial reaction when Chizik was obviously gone.

He knows the current players and the high school coaches in this area.

...and I like his kookball offense.

Probably not 13-0, no, but I suspect they would be quite a bit better than 7-5. My preseason guess was 10-2. I never thought they would run the table this year. Too many things would have had to have gone right, and they couldn't afford any major injuries or mishaps. As it turned out, they didn't even make it out of summer camp before that was all shot to hell. It only went downhill from there.

Anyway, yes, USC clearly underachieved on a grand scale this season, although much of that has to fall on Kiffin Senior. Lane wasn't the one running that awful defense, and it was the USC defense that was the main problem.

Still, unless there is a drastic turnaround on the level of this season's total trainwreck, I don't see Lane Kiffin returning in 2014.

You gotta hand it to him, though. Dude has one smoking hot wife.
