Just saw Tarantino's newest film, and that crazy bastard continues to ramp up the outrageous. While it may not be his best movie, it certainly packs a punch with its blend of genres. The violence, still funnier and bloodier than I can remember, pays off. The penultimate gun fight pays a nice homage to the Sam Peckinpah slow-motion of the "Wild Bunch". Tarantino gives himself a nice little send-off and there are at least a dozen cameos scattered throughout the movie.

Great...no. But very entertaining. The soundtrack, as always, is varied and excellent. Only Tarantino can pull off that sort of blend and make it work in the context of the movie.

I thought was between very good and great. The KKK scene alone is worth the price of admission. I was laughing so hard during that scene that I nearly cracked a rib.

As did I Rumps. There were many hyserical scenes in the film. Hell, most of Samuel L. Jacksons lines were gold and his performance was as usual, scary and funny at the same time. If the movie didn't hit a complete home run, it was only becuase he had just mined a similar story and theme in "Inglorious Basterds", which made this movie a sort-of prequel, in a roundabout way. Regardless, I enjoyed it thoroughly and plan on seeing it again, then adding it to the DVD collection when it comes out.

i thought it was pretty good. and i'm not at all a Tarantino honk just for the sake of it. more focused than inglorious. which i thought had some total shit moving parts.
