No one ever said he sucks. We've said he won't be a top NFL draft pick because he doesn't possess that level of talent. Also, if he'd been playing anywhere else he wouldn't have put up nearly the same numbers. So much of his efficiency is due to the fact that he's always playing with the house's money. The guy is never under the slightest bit of duress.

True, it doesn't hurt his stats that he has a brick wall in front of him; and a killer running game that makes play-action passing particularly lethal; and an insane defense that constantly gives him both great field position and a big lead; and far superior athletes surrounding him that physically dominate their overmatched opponents; and a shit ton of home games against vastly inferior teams; and....
Yep.

There isn't a QB with a pulse in D1 football who wouldn't thrive under those same circumstances.
However, did you not see the zip and accuracy on his passes the other night? He made some beautiful throws.
Who cares? D1 QBs who can throw the ball well to wide-open receivers when given all day to do so are a dime a dozen. Even Tebow managed it. For the millionth time, what do you suppose AJ's numbers would look like had he been Kentucky's QB instead of Bama's?
Of course, I've seen him do that a lot, but in the A&M and LSU games this year, he played like shit for the most part...and that's what y'all saw.
Those also happened to be two of the only times all season that Bama played teams boasting somewhat equivalent talent. Imagine that.
Matt Barkley didn't play at a school that put him in the best position to shine?
On paper, going into the season, sure. In reality, once the season started? Nope. His O-line was in shambles all year. The best center in America, Khaled Holmes? Constantly hurt. The best WR in America, Robert Woods? Hurt most of last year, and still hurt all this year. Silas Redd, their new RB out of Penn St? Nice little runner, at least when he wasn't fumbling or sitting on the bench nursing yet another injury. The kicking game? Awful. The defense? Even worse.

See, unlike McCarron, Barkley had precisely one consistent weapon upon which he could rely all season: Marqise Lee. Other than that, he was forced to carry nearly the entire load, and it showed. AJ McCarron may have done slightly better there or he may have done monstrously worse, I don't know. I do know that he wouldn't have put up anywhere close to the same numbers that he put up at Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots Tech.

The top QB was Teddy Bridgewater.

Hate to break it to you Sam, but everyone on your list is better that McCarron, and you left Murray of your list... he's much better than McCarron.

Florence shined, for sure.

Boyd was pretty darn good (and better than McCarron).

Next year's crop should be outstanding -- lots of freshmen and sophmores showing a bunch of promise, for sure.

Pretty sure the SEC had the top 18 or so.

Besides Zach Maynard, of course.

How come Case McCoy isn't on that list? He spent most the season watching from the sidelines and was even watching from the sidelines in San Antone as his buddy was allegedly raping some one. That is a stat no other Div1 QB can come close to.

And according to local SA TV no charges are likely to be filed. The "victim" has now changed her official story three times. I wonder how many unofficial stories she has told?

I'm breathlessly waiting for Screw to be in here yelling from the mountain tops about Texas covering up the rape allegation.

Don't forget, the other player mentioned in those allegations was Jordan Hicks. His father, Scott, played basketball at ND back in the day (my day  ).

Given that fact, Screwy will no doubt tie the cover-up in with ND's Administration.
