Steely Dan Tour

Prolly not too many Steely Dan fans around here but it turns out they're touring this summer, first time since 2011.

I was luck enough to notice when the venue they're playing at in San Diego sent out their summer schedule last week the they are scheduled for August. It's not even on the band's website yet, but I logged into Ticketmaster the minute they went on sale and scored third row center seats. The show sold out in about an hour from what I hear.

Really looking forward to seeing the Dan again.

Rack. Got any good bootlegs? Countdown to Ecstacy was their best, btw.

That and Aja were the two best. Countdown to Ecstasy prolly got more turntable time during my freshman year than any other album.
I used to work in a bar called Rudy's so Black Cow has some ironic memories for me.

No bootlegs but I still have all the originals on vinyl, in good condition. Spinning Aja right now as a matter of fact.

Great band, but Donald Fagen sings like Carol Channing and looks now like a cross between Larry David, Yasser Arafat and TVO. On the plus side, that one chick singer on the left is fucking gorgeous.

Why are they set so far back on the stage? They may as well have a moat between themselves and the audience.

I see what you mean about the staging. When I saw them two years ago it was the same basic setup but they were closer together and closer to the front of the stage. Smaller stage maybe, or it could be exaggerated by the video quality.

The singer on the left...married to the trumpet player I think.

That's why I mentioned Countdown to Ecstasy, moron.

Show Biz Kids is the best track off that album followed by King of the World and Boston Rag.
