"We" haven't. There's absolute;ly nothing new on this front since the charges came up over 2 years ago. I guess the NCAA has been too busy with PSU and Miami to be bothered with little ol' Oregon.
Winningest PAC team of the 90's, and off the top of my head, I believe only one losing season (just barely) in 20 years, multiple conference championships dating back 18 years... I don't think "meteoric" means what you think it means. We all knew their meteoric rise
Because the NCAA is ignoring it. As Duckfan, it's been frustrating -- "justice" has been delayed to ridiculousness. Been waiting 2 years to hear any more about it, and it's not happening.but now that they've been nailed, we ignore it?
Not important, but The Oregonian (aka Snoregonian) is Portland-based. The Register-Guard is the Eugene paper, which has the most U of O coverage. The University of Oregon football program that Kelly left behind in January agreed that it committed major NCAA violations, according to Monday reports from Eugene-based newspaper The Oregonian and Portland-based TV station KATU.
Writing on the wall seems to point to less-than-debilitating sanctions. Even with "repeat offender" status(got whacked in 2004 for recruiting), the people commenting (ex-NCAA officials and whatnot) don't think there will be a bowl ban (they're learning their lessons about their cash-cows (sup USC, OSU)). "Betting line" is trending towards a 2-3 schollie a year penalty. Maybe losing a member of the recruiting staff.
As far as being "dirty" -- Lyles got ~$25K... the average amount a Bama player gets per game.
