by Captain Haddock
Martin Brodeur
Roberto Luongo
Marty Turco

Defence
Dan Boyle Scott Hannan
Ed Jovanovski Chris Phillips
Wade Redden Robyn Regehr
Sheldon Souray

Forwards
Shane Doan
Kris Draper
Mike Fisher
Simon Gagne
Dany Heatley
Kirk Maltby
Patrick Marleau
Brendan Morrison
Brenden Morrow
Rick Nash
Ryan Smyth
Joe Thornton
Some other guy named Scott

Some people are going to say that this team is weak. Yeah, right.

I love the new look Canadian picks. There are a lot of blue collar grinders. Straight up, there are a lot of tough assholes on that squad.

I'm looking for a big Marleau & Fisher break out.

I'm getting jacked about this tournament. The Canadian vs US warm up game will be must see hockey.

And No Todd Bertuzzi.

RACK!

This will be a tough team no doubt.. but I'd like to have seen Sakic on it.

I disagree with all of you. I think it's a shame Bertuzzi is not on the team. Now who's going to step up for our guys if one gets wounded by some cheap shot artist? We definitaly need someone to let these bastards know what time it is.

Nevermind I'm going to sleep

Bertuzzi should be on the team. The guy shouldn't be punished for the rest of his life. He's also better than 3/4s of the guys on that team

No way, Bertuzzi played his way off the team when the big white hanky came out. At least the Canadian brass had the kindness to let Bertuzzi look like he made the decission. Classy move.

It's not necessarily about punishing him, it's about Team Canada being represented by players who have class, sportsmanship, and the ability to keep their cool in the heat of battle. Bertuzzi has a long history of being a fly-off-the-handle jackass on the ice.

But don't worry, you Canuck fans will have your boy back in due time. Just don't expect the rest of us to want to cheer for him.

Yeah, the rest of the team aren't exactly angels either. I'm not sure but didn't Brodeur have a legal incident with his wife? We all know that Heatley accidently killed a guy a year ago, but nobody seems to care about that. Jovo got accused of rape while he was in junior. I know a few guys that work for the Canucks and they all say that Bertuzzi is one of the nicest people that they have ever met and that he's a great family man.

Well that's good for Bertuzzi's family, then. Cause there might be problems if he treated them the way he treated Steve Moore... :P

Huge difference between an accident, as in Dany Heatley's case, and a premeditated attack, as in Bertuzzi's action. Yes, Dany Heatley was wrong to drive his vehicle the way he did, but his intentions were not to injure anyone. I realize the semantics of that can easily be argued... I'm not willing to get into that.

Thornton has shown to be a bit of a jackass lately. I guess he should be glad his transgressions haven't been as publicized as Bertuzzi's.

Jovo being accused of rape is probably not something one would like to have following them around, but if he wasn't convicted, there's nothing to be said of that in this "should Bertuzzi be on Team Canada" argument.

But nevertheless, even if we put all that aside and assume Todd Bertuzzi is a great guy and didn't mean harm to Steve Moore, Bertuzzi's presense on Team Canada would lead to a media circus that could be detrimental to the team's performance.

Thanks, but no thanks, Todd.

I think the media attention would die down pretty quickly. The tournamne tis held in Europe and I can't see the European media caring very much about Bertuzzi. Also, a few guys on team Canada spoke out about how they wanted Bertuzzi on the team, so I don't think they're would of been any problems there
